Does /fit/ actually work out their abs or just leave it for a cut to sort out? Do you just let your core lifts handle it? Do you specifically do crunches etc?

I'm not an exemple, since i barely squatted at the gym, but i lacked core muscles for falling for the meme.

If you're already a decent athlete (practice sports reguarly, can do heavy lifts beltless) chances are your core is already strong and planks and crunches won't really make a big difference. All you have to do is cut.

Currently I look like the guy in one, maybe a little pudgier. I'm 2 months into SL 5x5 and making steady progress. I also eat pretty well and do HIIT twice a week. If I keep this up, how long until I make it?

If you really go for it and stick to it, you can do it in about three years if you're aiming for 6. If you just want to get to 2, you literally need to lose weight for half a year.

Did crunch and exercises like that at first. Then i discovered that them were useless for your abs so i quitted. I do squat 4 times a week(considering as squat also pause squat and hack squat), deadlift and bench press twice a week, so why i should do crunch? That's just stupid, it won't help your abs growing (talking 'bout volume) or getting stronger. I do some abs circuits once a month or less just for fun (or when hot chicks are near, just to let them mirin)

Yeah crunches (both normal and elevated with feet on door), regular sit ups, (twisting, punches) Leg lifts (trains abs groin muscles somewhat) Though for these because of a retinal tear surgery I can't lay on my back for a while so I mostly do ab work with planks

Dumbbells brah then when you have hit that mythical 60kg dumbbell you see that one crazy black guy use once move onto a barbell. Set up like a bench press but instead of lowering the weight, crunch up. Watch some Geroge Leeman videos on his deadlift assistance and he covers it. He also makes his troll gf sit on his stomach.

Nigga, if you lose 1lb a week, it'll take however long it takes. The guy in 1 weighs what, like 120kg? Maybe more, in 2 he weighs probs sub 100kg so thats like 8months? As for getting to 6, he probably is sitting about 80kg of lean muscle so we're talking 2-3 years minimum, more likely much more. This is a lifestyle, remember that bro. It takes a while to look like that, you're best bet is to keep up with SS to build that strength base then once you max out the noob gains switch to a intermediate aesthetic program like upper lower or push pull and cut whilst doing that. Abs =/= your whole core
Squats and deadlifts should be enough if you actually focus on the mind muscle connection to the core (i.e. consciously contracting it during the lift)
However, for those who get bored easily or just wanna isolate it you're going to want stomach vacuums, weighted crunches, weighted side bends and should maybe even consider looking up some good serratus exercises.
I also like dragon flags which I believe work the whole core.
