Alright /fit/ I did my first day in the gym today, I was lifting for 60 minutes. I'm doing compound shit. But I think I got DOMS

What the fuck do I do about DOMS? My chest, shoulders, arms (lower and upper) hurt, and even my back. I gotta hit the gym tomorrow but this shit hurts so bad. What do I do?
>>
>>35524994

Stop being a whiny faggot
>>
>>35524994
Power through them. Unless it feel like your actually hurt, then you need to power through them.
>>
>>35524994
Take some Monistat 7
>>
>>35525005
I'm not whiny dude I'm just saying it hurts and wondering what to do, I don't wanna send myself to the hospital. I wanna be able to lift the months to come

>>35525012
The same lbs/kg as I lifted, or should I continue increasing? Cause it's hard to raise arms and shit when it feels so tiring
>>
Legs
>>
If you do nothing your noob DOMS will last days. One decent compound set will blow them away, though, and it will feel amazing. Get your ass back to the gym.
>>
>doing more than one compound exercise in a day

You dun fucked up.

And you were probably pushing past your limit aswell like a fag.

But still, it was probably down to ignorance rather than stupidity or ego.

Take your time, have long breaks, allow your muskulls time to recover, don't lift to limit and don't lift what you can't lift without fucking up your form or injuring yourself.

There's no point going to the gym tomorrow, you're just going to fuck yourself up further.

The path to gainz is not a sprint, it's a slow jog.

I'm sorry for all these retards OP.. it's impossible to get decent advice here. Anyways as someone mentioned just increase the weight as your program tells you to. Now if you can't actually lift the weights (while trying, ind you) then lower the weight untill you can and finish your workout.
>>
>>35525037
>doing more than one compound exercise in a day

Wtf is wrong with this? This is what everyone does, what the fuck do you do? Yoga?
>>
>>35525027

>The same lbs/kg as I lifted, or should I continue increasing? Cause it's hard to raise arms and shit when it feels so tiring

If you insist on training chest and arms again, use light weights and focus on ROM and high reps.

Although I'd recommend doing legs instead and giving your upper body another day or two. You really don't wanna get rhabdo.

I guess I'll go for a leg day
>>
>>35525124
If this is indeed your second day at the gym, you will feel like complete shit tomorrow evening. Not trying to discourage you, you need to work through this shit anyway. I still remember how I felt after my first leg day. It was terrifying.
>>
>>35525253
Yes it will be my second day, I'm pretty hyped about going again though. I'm making my own routine, not following any.
>>
>>35524994

I got to question the program here.

Your problems is you sore from yesterday because you're untrained.

What you should be doing as a newb is instead of the 1 hour each day, 2 day in a row split, you combine them into a single 2 hour day and take the next day off.

general rule: anytime you aren't sure, do a cardio day and save lifting for the next day
>>
>>35525370
I think everyone here would highly recommend you follow a routine
>>
>>35525406
What fucking routine? If it's your first or second day what routine do you have to follow? Your body is only your own, only you know your limits and genetics. Nobody can make a pre-made schedule for you
>>
>>35525370
This might explain why you have such intense DOMS. go follow a tested and used program
>>
>>35525373
This. Do a novice program and get some cardio on off days. Aerobic exercises help reduce DOMS.

READ THE STICKY
>>
>>35525481
I already read it, that's why I'm asking for further help with a routine.
>>
>>35525501
the sticky lists lots of routines for people like you. what is it about the routines you dont like?
>>
The more I lift the less I hurt, physically and mentally, even if the pain is still there.

SS
>>
>>35525527
Because most of them encourage 3 times a week to lift, I want to lift every fucking day.

Do any PPL for beginners.

I am beginning to see a problem here op but try strong lifts.
>>
>>35525732
>>35525712
>>35525705
Dude I'm not saying they're wrong, but I was trying to test the gym first. You know, FIRST day in the gym right? It's not like I've fucking been there before.

I'll do the 5x5 Stronglift because I want strength and bulk and I'm not that big, I'm afraid I won't be able to lift a lot though especially deadlifting but whatever, I'll try.

It pisses me off though that it's 3 days a week, why not 4? I'm a fucking neet I have nothing to do 90% of the time, FUCK
>>
>>35524994
Quit being a pussy
>>
If you've never lifted before (or haven't in a long time) DOMS will be really bad at first. My first couple times in the gym, I needed like 3-4 days rest. Now I feel like I could go pretty much every day, and I actually have to force myself to take rest days that I don't want. That's all within a couple months time.
>>
>>35525758
If you've never lifted before, you will:
>progress on any routine as long as you up the weight and eat enough
>be worn out as fuck after a day of lifting
>>
>>35525758

Its a 3 day regime so you dont wreck your shit you imbecile.

Rest days may be boring but they are important in allowing muscles to recover and are there in the program for a reason.

I understand that but why the fuck is it only 3 days? What about the weekend? Why not at least once on Sunday? What is the point of having 2 days off when you have nothing to do?

The 5x5 Stronglift seems like a great routine but 3 days, and only 45 minutes? Whaaaat?

Do it for a month, increase the weight as the program states, and just see for yourself that that's enough.

Do DDP Yoga on days off from lifting. Cardio on other days. Most of all quit being a retard.
>>
>>35525812
You're brand new to this. The people who have designed the beginner routines that we recommend have probably been lifting longer than you've been alive. Accept that they know more than you do, follow the routine and shut the fuck up.
>>
>>35525812

Go on then bro, start lifting 7 days a week with your own program and see what happens :)

>>

Just do cardio/yoga on the off days you fucking retard

Pick one. You're probably injured.

Hijacking thread.
i'm 152 lbs 5''7, kinda in between of chubby and fat.
I've gone on/off for gym the last year made some small progress and so, but how does this sound
2500-2600 bulking and doing SS with ab+bicep training (I want dem showmuscles) Abs always after gym
>>
>>35526340
And I have never done deadlift before and all my gymbros go to other gym so I'm afraid to try it and fail same with the barbell rows.
How much weight should I try on the deadlift ?
Bench 66lbs
squat 88lbs
>>
>>35524994
what split are you using that you will train the same body parts on the next day? literally no good program (SS, U/L, PPL) does this. You should be doing a 3 day full body split desu senpai. And yeah, get over your doms, they will be gone in a week or two of training consistently. Also if you are noob you should increase the weight with each session, go read the sticky please.
>>
Just drink a shitton of water between lifting days to ease the soreness and push through it.
