I like dairy.
I don't like animal abuse.

Hope that helps OP

I'm lucky to have a local coop that sells raw milk... I dont have to use pasteurized inferior milk from abused cows.

Sensationalism coupled with wildly misrepresenting science.

So veganism.

Look at all these tortured and abused animals:

looks like more alarmist propaganda hellbent on exaggerating the harms of raw milk while conveniently ignoring anything even hinting at benefits. only immunocompromised raw milk drinkers suffer any negative effects if it's fresh and otherwise sourced from a well maintained farm.
>>

I didn't like that.
Not one bit.
How can anyone be so fucking cruel? The people I know that work on the local farm are definitely not like that, noone here at the village is like that.

Here in Europe stuff like that doesn't happen.

Raw milk has benefits
[Citation needed]

>Agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) in the United States, and other regulatory agencies around the world say that
pathogens from raw milk, including potentially tuberculosis, diphtheria, typhoid, and streptococcal
infections,[11] make it unsafe to consume
>Similarly, a recent review authored by the Belgian Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain and experts from Belgian universities and institutions concluded that "raw milk poses a realistic health threat due to a possible contamination with human pathogens. It is therefore strongly recommended that milk should be heated before consumption. With the exception of an altered organoleptic [flavor] profile, heating (particularly ultra high temperature and similar treatments) will not substantially change the nutritional value of raw milk or other benefits associated with raw milk consumption.

You are literally retarded.
>>
>>35525956
It's actually you who is psychologically abnormal. There's a bell curve for empathy and normativity (and thus a healthy perspective) exists in the middle, not on either end of the curve. Having a misaligned sense of empathy is extremely unhealthy.
>>
>>35525892
try a bit harder mate, having empathy for an animal does not mean you anthropomorphize it, obviously

that may be so, but having empathy for animals does not constitute being 'overly empathetic'

>>35525983
an interesting point, is it 'self awareness' that you see to be the key here? (bear in mind humans are of course animals)
>>
>>35525981

You're full of shit.

In what way was I being overly empathetic and when did I anthropomorphize animals?
>>
>>35526006
Having empathy for animals is fine.

But the vast majority of people (and hence normativity, ie. not in the realm of a personality disorder) consume milk and animals.

You have a personality disorder. Your position isn't inherently logical. I'll say it one last time; it reflects a personality disorder. A lack of psycho-normativity. The problem is you, not other people.

I love dairy products. Any chance I have to visit my grandparents in door county wisconsin I take a bike ride to get some of those sweet sweet freshly made cheese curds

I don't like animal abuse, and I prefer for them not to be abused, but impregnating them artificially and milking them isn't abuse, though of course it can be done in an abusive manner
>>

>>
>>35526006
I don't see a key because I don't need one. I don't know or care if animals are aware or not.

I had a cat, I loved it. I eat meat because I love it. Don't you see, I too love cows, just the dead ones
>>
>>35526016

well you haven't even read my posts have you, I never claimed to not drink milk or eat meat, calling me a 'problem' does not make your argument any more convincing.

Just because something is 'the norm' does not mean it cannot be improved upon. Think slavery.
>>

>>
>comment section on that video

>>
>>35526045
There's no argument to be had. Emotions can't be argued in the realm of fact. You either have a certain emotional perspective or you don't. My only desire was to demonstrate that yours was/is abnormal. The comparison to slavery is unwarranted, which can be argued against in the realm of fact and overlaps with a normative bell curve (ie. human empathy).

I wouldn't consider 'normative' to be the end-of-all-discussions argument. Normativity in the middle ages meant believing that the Earth is flat, burning people for looking fishy and wedding 12yo to 40yo just to ensure a good marriage from the business standpoint.
Normativity is also progressively creating society where mentally ill people (all the transgenders, agenders, furrygenders and I don't know what else) are getting a sort of 'saint' or 'martyr' status, encouraging more to turn to this behaviour.
>>
>>35526053
Because I know I will die one day. Animals have no concept of death, or even concept of concept for that, and can't therefore know they are alive
>>
>>35526029
I put it to you that you didn't kill and eat your cat, correct?

If you were to raise and kill the animal yourself, rather than have it done out of your sight (and this out of mind) your attitude toward eating meat would likely be very different

Dumping flimsy science isn't an argument. I sincerely doubt you're statistically trained and have looked at those studies in terms of methodological rigor.

Scientific consensus says raw milk is unhealthy and provides no health benefits. That is the correct position to hold.

You really need to stop dunning-kruger sperging.
>>
>>35526124
>keep projecting, and blindingly believing authorities without doing your own research

It's actually intellectually rigorous to hold positions consistent with those held by academic consensus in fields where success or failure is contingent on empirical data.

Holding positions inconsistent with scientific consensus and methodological study of empirical data (meta-analyses and the like) is why global warming denial and general stupidity exists.

You aren't smart enough or trained enough to do your own "science". You're likely moronic and went to a community college.

Just slow cook it and the toughness will go away and the meat will become very tender. It's the same with most wild game or any old animal slaughtered for meat. The reason cat or dog meat is tough is because the animal died as an adult or far into adulthood. People are so used to eating young animals (and processed meat) that they no longer understand how muscles age in livestock.

I'm not the one you were talking to before, I just commented on your 'normativity' statement, which I consider to be a weak argument to be thrown around as if it was the rhetorical K.O.

Again, reading through your discussion, the fact that everyone eats meat and milk has nothing to do with emotions, it's something that just is, because there are no other means of feeding so many mouths with just plants, nor would many people accept their steak being taken away, humans, after all, are omnivores, there's no arguing there.

>I'm not worried about animal abuse, personally. Mostly because I'm not mentally ill and I don't anthropomorphize beasts.
going back to this statement, I don't know if you're just trying to be edgy or are the 'emotionally outside the boundaries of normativity one' since most people consider animal abuse to be horrific, disgusting and forbidden (yet the meat industry profits and people eat meat. I'd like to call this ironic but most people have no idea what does it take for their steak to appear on the plate and probably consider it to be summoned from another dimension by a magician).

The fact that people dislike the (industrial) animal abuse is not because they anthropomorphize animals. It's a sense of guilt and disgust at themselves and the acts they are witnessing, for they are presented with what the animals have to suffer for them to fill their stomach. It's also a question of empathy we feel for other living beings in general (at least those that we consider cute, useful, pitiable...) and which many 'intelligent' or 'sentient' living beings (such as monkies, dolphins, birds) feel for other living beings. This would mean that you are the emotional deviant here.

tl;dr: your arguments suck, you're just edgy

FYI, I ha some 200g of chicken meat for dinner and klobasa, gonna eat quark in a while, so no, I'm not a vegan forcing veganism onto you.
