For me, Asics are the best running shoes ever. I have a pair of Gel Nimbus (dunno the mark since I bought them 7 years ago). And they are still good. I went to the gym a lot with them and ran a lot with them, especially last year (~80k per month).

I have a pair of Gel Cumulus (~$50 cheaper than Nimbus, I was weirded out by how Nimbus feels anyway when I tried them in the store). Not much to say about them, which is good. Super comfy and I never get to complain about my feet unless I go full retard and somehow hurt my ankle because I'm retarded and run at night so I occasionally trip on uneven ground.
My father is a lot more into running than I am (like 40 minutes most nights since he got into navy med school I think ?) and he swears by Asics now. Literally won't let anyone in his family buy any other brand.
I just run in ratty old trainers that only cost £20 to start with. It's just for running in.
Smh at this capitalist society that can't understand the value of something unless it has money spent on it.
Just to you all know, it is best to replace your running shoes after about 300 miles on them. This will be the point where you start getting small pains on your legs you weren't getting before because the shoes have worn down too much. Some people don't take long to reach this point. Others take much longer but its a good idea for your health to switch out your running shoes regularly with quality pair.

Pretty much every runner swears by Asics.
That doesn't mean Nike and others don't make excellent running shoes. It's just that Asics makes excellent shoes most of the time.
