I tried that resistance band setup a few times and I thought I was a genius for figuring that out on my own. But god do I hate it. The band always snaps around my arms and shoulders, sometimes it snaps right to your neck and your set is ruined.

I did that too, but it's not that challenging that way. First it pulls on my back, that kind of provokes that I just hollow my back a bit when I'm moving up, which is bad form. Second it exerts not only a force straight downwards, but also forwards, which just doesn't feel right.
