What's your squat now?

If you use a belt and you don't squat at least 2x body weight, why is it you choose to use a crutch instead of strengthening your core?

You are gonna get hurt? Take it slower and don't ego lift. Strengthen core. And don't give one word answers then walk out the room like you just schooled everyone and you are gonna let them wallow in your intelligence. You won't get hurt squatting say 185 unless you flay our a tard with tard form rushing it.

I'm at 160 and can do 315 for a double and have yet to even consider a belt. Though I squat atg highbar so take that as you will.

They made us use belts for squats and deadlift when I first learned lifting in high school for football. They were trying to make it a habit for us so we could prevent back injury when we started lifting more weight. I was like 100 pounds doing 135 pound squats. You really can use it at any weight. I think 300 pounds is the general place they recommend to start using it
