Starting out with a few questions as well:

Any of /fit/ actually get negative effects from cheap / whey concentrate protein?

Any reason to limit supplemental vitamin D intake from milk and other sources (e.g., vitamins)? It's a hormone. I hear it also depletes vitamin K.

Onward, I take a multivitamin, but it doesn't have much magnesium; and getting it from food seems challenging, as I'm trying to get it in amounts above 150% to match calcium (intake from milk) and other nutrients. I've been getting pepitas in 10lb. bulk, but that's like $65 and barely lasts through paychecks. So, it seems like I'm switching up multivitamins.

I also take vitamin K1, because going to the store for and danking multiple cans of spinach isn't that fun. The 500mcg (like 500% DV) are $8 for 200 or something. I split these up in case it increases blood pressure.

I also take Tryptophan and Phenylalanine, the former in pretty decent doses and the latter in pretty minimal, for literally feeling orgasmic. Tryptophan produces B3, which produces NAD, which is shown in labs to reverse aging. NAD is the "respirator" of all cells, providing all cellular energy. TR and PH also synthesize into Serotonin and Dopamine, respectively. Dopamine receptors are protected by antioxidants, so I get lots of cinnamon and cloves. Cloves seem to not ever run out of clove-ness for tea. It's fucking fantastic, and it gives that feeling from clove cigars. ..I used to get histidine HCL, which is pretty intense also, but I seem to be getting enough protein to spend the money on something more productive.

Flaxseed meal.
>tfw 6.3g Omega-3s per oz.

3K+ Cal diet, but mostly oats, PB, flax, milk, pepitas, honey, and stevia. Some butter, coconut oil, fruit.. lots of cinnamon, and some coffee and cocoa.

I don't think there are any apart from problems with digestion (farts...). The WPC I use is made in my small country by cheese/butter factory and it's without flavouring.
>>
Any decent multivitamins on Amazon that are inexpensive, have 100% magnesium, no iodine, no selenium, and a limited amount of vitamin D (100% maybe)?
>>
>>35461351

ZMA is one of the few that I actually feel does something.

Taurine works great. I used to get real bad cramps even though I was hydrated well and ate bananas. Now I barely get any after a really intense workout.

Fish Oil too, not sure it does anything. But there is a lot of research that says it should be good.
>>
I supplement Vitamin D and fish oil.

I'm wondering if supplementing Zinc would be a good idea.

You can check out the price per gram of omega 3s vs. flax.

Bob's golden meal on Amazon is <$20 for 8lbs. at 22% omega 3s. It's about 2c per gram.

Pills are some 10-20c per gram, it seems.
>>
For those of you who take Vitamin D, taking too much can have some negative effects. I used to take 5000IU but now only 1000 or 2000

Neprinol enzyme blend, Acetyl-l carnitine, PABA, l-arginine.

I have specific issues, although from what I've read enzymes seem like something everyone should take whether in a supplement or through fermented foods or high-enzyme foods like raw pineapple.

astaxanthin for my eyes (prevents macular degeneration) along with the fact that it acts as an internal sunscreen and is a very potent antioxidant

r-lipolic acid to prevent glycation and regular my blood sugar

glutothione for extreme antioxidant power!

raw cloves and raw cinnamon = orac

dmae for brain and kewl dreams and deep sleep

probiotics for my guts; specifically anything targeting my colon. keeps me pooping a lot and helps my brain and immune system

BCAAs and acetyl l carnitine before i work out

maca and other adaptogens to regular my adrenal glands (which control hormones) also keeps my stress levels low, i'm prone to panic attacks if i do dumb stuff like drink too much caffeine or eat carbs before bed

Why the fuck are you using BCAA's and Protein powder?

Mate...

Did you start lifting yesterday?
BCAA and Protein = SAME THING FUNCTIONALLY

If you're using BCAA's, you're on a cut and you want to prevent your muscles from becoming catabolic, and causing you to lose your muscles. It's there if you want to take in lots of protein without the calories.

D vitamin deficiency is very common in the northern parts of the world because we don't get enough sun. personally I take it because my blood work showed I was deficient.

you shouldn't really "notice changes" from any of the stuff you take unless you're already deficient. vitamins and minerals are things you want in the correct amounts. more isn't better.

What makes more sense for increased energy is nutrition though. >>35461984, and just Tryptophan even, can provide literally all cellular energy through B3, and just 2g of it is almost twice the RDA of B3 (33mg) if solely converted as such.

That amino acid also produces melatonin and serotonin.

Furthermore, ADHD's "tendency" is listed as low dopamine, which could be remedied with phenylalanine. The same logic implies that increasing energy (and dopamine and its stimulation) are the cures to ADHD, per medications being stimulants. It makes more sense to provide more of something instead of just pushing it to where it could be.. and also for increased energy being more "entertaining".

Best thing to do during a tolerance break is to get a doctor to prescribe your Namenda off-label and if you can't do that, take some magnesium after you're day's over.

I'm still at 30mg of Vyvanse, which is supposed to be as much as 15mg of Adderall.
>>
>>35480184

Vyvance is just lysine-dextroamphetamine (Adderall + protein to ease side-effects)

I doubt there is that extreme a difference in bioavailability
>>
>>35480234
That lysine binding agent is what make Vyvanse the only prodrug dexamphetamine, so there's already a difference in how it metabolizes. It's not just "adderall + protein", it's literally the prodrug that creates d-amp in adderall and then mimics as an extended release.
