I'll start off, I'm 5'9, heaviest was around 170 lbs, before pic i'm 160 lbs, after pic i am 120 lbs, and i am still around 120 lbs. Opinions?

I was the same weight and body comp as you - 72kg at 5ft 9 and I've been cutting for a few months, now at 67 and I was gonna keep on cutting till all my abs came out. In my opinion, (not saying I'm right) is that a lot of newer guys to lifting and getting fit tend to want to 'cut' way too early and end up making life more difficult for themselves when they want to add strength & size.

The way I went about it was to get a solid 9/12 months of compound lifting in, then taper down if that's what you want. In fairness though I didn't start out obese - 6'1/185cm and started at 75kgish went up to 81kg

I went from 145 to 188 just from work and putting on muscle/weight in 4 1/2 years. (Was 170 around July of this year)

Now I started working out about 2 months ago and started eating protein this month. I'm a couple pounds heavier but a little leaner and a lot stronger.

When I get heavier I'm just going to do cardio on my off days or start doing it again like I was in the first place. I don't understand this cutting shit.

here's my ~1 year progress of "going to the gym". i'm 160 in both the first and 2nd pic. did SS for most of the year. cut from 160 to 145 in about 3-4 months, then bulked from april to now.

current 1 rm's are 120/180/260/280.

i'm looking for some advice, is it a bad idea to do an intermediate split like PPL? i've already been doing SS for basically an entire year, and i'm just fucking bored of it. am i still too small to be going to the gym 6 days a week?

Wat? Of course you can.

Try doing it for two or three weeks, increase your caloric intake and most likely you'll need to lower your weights. At the end of those weeks: are you ok? keep going! Was it too tough? Fuck, well then try easing a bit more into it, also depends on what exactly made it fail.

When I PPL it was three months into SL while cutting hard. It's fine, because you readjust the weights you use and load up from there.

Went from 200lbs to 155, lifted at first but gave up cause my noob strength went down from cutting too hard and I got discouraged.
Started working pushing carts at stop and shop and went down to 145 stupidly fast but still looked skinny fat cause barely any muscle.
Quit that job cause it fucking sucked.
Started going to a real gym a couple months after in October just fucked around with machines for months because I was scared I couldn't do compound lifts cause of my hand.
Around April that year I tried squatting for the first time, soon after I started overhead pressing and then by June I was benching, deadlifting and rowing. During this time I slowly went up towards the higher 150s. Sitting at 160 right now and bulking slowly cause honestly I care more about gaining strength and from yoyo-ing losing and gaining weight when I had at least some sort of muscle base I really didn't want to be that light to see more definition.

mostly just make sure I'm doing everything with correct form and keeping both sides on the same level.
Every once in a while I'll do a set of curls, or triceps extensions or lateral raises on one side. the biggest difference between my arms are the triceps and my right delt is a little smaller. Back and Chest are pretty even though.
