Protein is a scam.
You need some, but 1g/lb is bs.

Your body. You probably do that, and u look like shit

>meme from the fitness industry is a scam
who would have thought?
it's 1g/kg (for sedentary people) to 1.8g/kg (for strength athletes), more or less, there need to be more studies accounting for lean body mass and so on.
1g/lb holds true for pro bbers, who are on a fuckton of roids, and might actually not be enough!
depends how hard and how much you train
also, I"m pretty sure it's *lean mass* that matters, so put down that chicken you fucking fatties.
0.75 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight is more than enough
>Based on the sound research, many review papers have concluded 0.82g/lb is the upper limit at which protein intake benefits body composition (Phillips & Van Loon, 2011). This recommendation often includes a double 95% confidence level, meaning they took the highest mean intake at which benefits were still observed and then added two standard deviations to that level to make absolutely sure all possible benefits from additional protein intake are utilized. As such, this is already overdoing it and consuming 1g/lb ‘to be safe’ doesn’t make any sense. 0.82g/lb is already very safe.

This. If you take 0.6g/lb is enough for all
Hodge Twins only get about 100-120g protein a day and they're yoked. Inb4 le epic roids maymay, still gonna need enough protein, and they clearly get it.

they're in maintenance mode, and I'm not sure they can count.

Someone posted a study fairly recently, can't remember all of it, but it said stick to about 50g and you'll be fine, but anything higher than that is a waste.
>>35457850
Its more like 1g/1kg lean bodymass
>>35459463
Still for their weight (210-230?) thats way less protein than 1g/lb. Even if they were on a bulk I doubt they consume more than 0.8g/lb

>GOMAD and protein powders are a fucking scam
>You can actually just eat two chicken breasts to get your entire daily protein intake
Anyone who thinks you really need 1g/lb of body weight is fucking retarded.
>>35459792
>two chicken breasts
>rice
>oats
>veggies like broccoli, etc
>creatine is protein btw
etc etc
shit adds up, bro
>>35457850
well yeah 1g/lb is a scam spread by the supplement industry
