All ex fatasses, current fatasses or recovering fatasses discuss, tips and tricks to help lose weight, motivate each other with progress stories or pics and otherwise help all of us make it because 2016 is the year we will leave humanity behind.

Op here, 18 years old 85kgs and 6"1 deadlift 150kg squat 130kg and bench 70kg. About 18-20%bf and want to cut for gap year playing cricket in Australia next winter and for holiday this summer, can I make it down to 11-12% bf in 6 months? Thanks /fit/

Now
>6ft, 185lbs

I just drank a lot of coffee and started working out in a home gym (2 8lbs free weights, upgraded to 2 15lbs ones after Christmas).
>>
Lost 80 pounds since February last year. First time not being obese or overweight in years.

My tip is this: buy a food scale and use it. I guarantee portion sizes are smaller than you think
>>
Is there any way to gain muscle whilst losing weight or do you absolutely have to be one calorific surplus to increase muscle mass?
>>
Recovering fatass here, 6ft3 230lbs

Want to get down to 190 one day
>>
>>35440098
chug water straight after your meals you'll feel really full after, i did it to avoid over eating when I was focusing purely on fat loss and wasn't lifting
>>
I'm roughly 238 pounds and 6'. I hold the weight well though so it doesn't cripple my self confidence.

Seriously.

Fucking seriously.

Motivation is the only thing that keeps you climbing that fucking mountain to glory. Watch music videos with stunning women in and think "fuck, if I make it, they'll be waiting for me" because - unless you're horribly autistic - they fucking will be.

Loads of lurkers will come here and be like "whoa imma fat butt i dun no if i can do it" you fucking can.

Find something that motivates you. If it's a woman, then fucking sprint towards it - not literally since you have to care for your joints.

I've seriously gained weight after knocking my back since I was afraid of going to the gym and really fucking up.

>60 minutes of walking a day
>Cut out the fizzy drinks
>Join a gym
>Fuck fear
>Don't be afraid to follow fashion trends

The only thing that motivates me is that I know I can lose the weight without developing diabetes and losing my legs.

When I first decided to lose weight I ran a 1000 cal deficit and started lifting 4x a week. I gained a lot of newb gains and lost 50 pounds in the first 3 months.

I'm 6 months in now, have lost a total of 65 pounds but my lifts haven't gone up in probably 2 months. I just maintain the same lift numbers. Long story short; yes you can gain muscle while losing weight at the start, but cut long enough and you won't be able to.

Slowly progressing fatty here. Highest weight was 278 pounds, currently 227 lbs. 5'8" Goal by the end of 2016 is 175, but aiming for an ultimate goal of 135-150. Vegan diet, plus a personal trainer to teach me how to actually do all these lifts. Cheers!

>>35440098
Former fatass, made it from 310 to 210. Not a finished product, but I pretty much am out of the weight loss phase and just lifting and keeping a relatively /fit/ lifestyle.

I love you guys. Not trying to get all sappy on new years, but I'm rooting for you like others rooted for me 2 years ago.

Once out of fat as fatass mode + over 6 months gym experience, I have always recommended this if you have the time and dedication. Play it for the long haul. I tried "bulking" after being an ex fat ass and I took way too much liberties, gained 13 pounds back. It sucked.

The only thing is that you cannot skip your cardio, (maybe 2 a week at most on a bad week) but most of us are used to it.

Keep lean bros
>>
>>35440098
2015 was the year of my rebirth. Dropped from 230 lbs down to 163. No new years resolution, no shitty fad diets, no special secrets but one: something made me decide that I didn't want to be fat any more.
I wanted it more than I wanted to be fat, and I wanted it enough to stop being fat.
Now I am fat no longer.

You will be fat until there is something you want that requires you to stop being fat, and you want it more than you want the things that keep you fat.
On that day, and not a moment sooner, you will step irrevocably down the road to being fit and it will be the easiest thing in the world.

ex-fatty here.
Dropping ~70lbs and then adding some muscle on that canvas was the best thing happened to me. Parents and some friends saying I've got too skinny, but grills and normies are miring. Worst part of it - I keep mirin myself like a fag, but at the same time my self confidence just sky-rocketed.
Don't look for excuses, it's never it too late to start your life-changing transformation.

I've seen you post that transformation before and used it as motivation for myself to get my lard arse back on to a cut and into the gym. Truly thank you for that kick up the arse when I needed it but reading that was like meeting an idol and finding out they're nothing like you expected.

I'm 30yo, 186cm and currently 81kg down from 120kg+ at my heaviest. I've have a pacemaker because elevated heart rates tend to try and kill me and I've also got fibromyalgia yet my plan for 2016 is to bulk. Every bite of food will result in gym time which is going to triply suck for me as I'll hurt before I even step through the doors and then my brain will be telling me my life is on the line the whole time I'm there too. I still need to cut 4kg first which I plan to do over the next two weeks but then the bulk out of twinkasaurus rex mode begins. I've got all my shit sorted diet and exercise wise so now it's a matter sticking to the plan and I'll make it.

The pic is from a few days ago before I lost the scraggly chest pubes. No pump or flexing but I was little dehydrated for it.
>>
>>35442574
I'm 26yo and 183cm on those pics. Sorry for ruining your image, but the truth behind my "success" is that a body transformation is possible even with quite a minimal effort.
Anyways, your body looks good for 30yo ex-120kg fatty, keep it up. I suggest to develop shoulders and lats. Don't do much legs for now, because your hips even wider than mine m8

Went from 275 to 190. Currently trying to put way more protein in my diet and in general am trying to fix what I eat up a bit.

Count calories. Myfitnesspal is a good start.

>tips and tricks to help lose weight
Weigh and measure everything calorically significant, and mercilessly track every calorie and macro you put into your body every single day. It's the one big change I made, that made the difference between little to no progress, and finally having total control over my bodyfat percentage. Bonus points: Do it long enough, and you can go for days, weeks even, without keeping track, because you're into the habit, and you develop an innate knowledge of how many calories something has just by looking at it.

ex fatass/recovering fatass here

6 months ago I was 250, now i'm around 185. I'm planning on losing maybe another 15, depending on what it takes to make the remaining stomach pudge go away. I'm super happy with how I look now already tho, it's exciting!

All I did was count calories and excercise

Fasting really helps you realise how much you actually need to eat, also lots of water.
Body weight exercises are nice, for example when I started I couldnt do 1 full pushup, know I can do 18 on my fist pushups

Recovering fatass here. Went from 255 to 160 by eating at a deficit, doing cardio, and fasting once a week. It was a lot easier than I thought, once I got going.

My advice is to take weight loss slow and lift while you're doing it so you don't end up looking like shit. Also, when in doubt, overestimate calories in, underestimate calories out.

We're all going to make it bros. I was a lazy fat piece of shit last winter, but I unfucked my shit and went from 253lbs of lazy underachievement to pic related in 10 months. Still a long way to go but one day I'll be /fit/ and you will too if you keep at it.

To every recovering fatty out there, just keep going. Godspeed you magnificent bastards!

Went from 270 to 215 in 4 months /w no loose skin and I'm sitting at 6'1"

hopefully ill be diwn to 180 in another few months time.
>>
>>35440128
Seems achievable. I'd budget for about 2 kg weight loss per month, totaling 12 kg over 6 months. That would take you down to 73 kg.

However, it's difficult to say without knowing how much muscle is on your frame. I'd guess that at 6'1", you'd only need to get down to 75-6 kg in order to be 11-12% bodyfat.

I'd recommend that you cut for 3 months, and see how you go. Cutting for long periods of time (i.e. more than 3 months) is pretty bad for your strength and musculature.
>>
>>35442074

>>
>>35442074
Ass- hello, is it me your looking for?
>>
>tfw hit 3plate squat before starting cut

135kg->132kg in last 3 weeks

Goal is only down to 105-110kg though, cutting from 31%bf down to 11% or so.

At 5'9 I was surprised that the bodyfat tests I had done showed so much non-fat mass. Thought I'd have way more fat to lose.
