Hey /fit/ I've broken my femur and was on crutches for about a year due to some complications. I lost a ton of muscle and am now a skinny 5/10 150 pounds. I finished physical therapy and am now looking to start gaining my leg strength back any ideas?
>>
Any lifting experience prior to the injury?
>>

How much milk do you drink a day?
>>
I mean basically, it's not any different than advice for anyone starting out lifting. Though that's assuming you've worked with orthopedic specialists or whatever and done enough PT that your leg is recovered fully structurally and at similar strength to your other leg.

But basically, you know, try and find a good program that works for you (ss, etc.) and stick with it. Squats/DL are your bread and butter, and ease into it, especially given your injury. But don't let it hold you back or discourage you. You're past the hardest part already in recovering from a shit injury. Just get lifting!

I started lifting at 28 after a serious car crash resulting in a broken hip (among other things).
I got to a 100kg squat and a 140kg deadlift in about an year and a half.
Take your time, don't rush it and see where it goes. Have an orthopedic follow you and monitor your recovery.
We can all make it bro, godspeed with your recovery

Guess I'll drink more milk. Also since I'm skinny now should I just focus on bulking or try to cut whatever fat I have left
>>
>>35421241

I would say bulk. Get all that protein to build up those bones. When you hit 170 i would start cutting to a low bf% then put on more weight as seen suited.

Alright thanks for all the help guys unfortunately I'll be starting this after New Years with the thousands of others but I'll keep looking around fit for more advice on how to get started thanks for the advice
