I typically grab an old math textbook I've kept and, for 30 minutes 3 to 5 days of the week before my daily run, I'll review a section or two and/or a problem set. These are typically calculus (1-3), linear algebra, or modern algebra if I'm wanting to really workout my brain. I'll then think about what I've learned or a problem/concept I got stuck on while I run, provided more important things aren't occupying my mind.

Several of my hobbies also require me to flex my noggin. I've completely cut out TV and jewvies

I'd really like to see what the brains of /v/irgins are gonna be like when they are 80. They say crosswords keep your brain fresh and prevent Alzheimer's, I wonder what the memorization of vidya does to the brain.

I cut myself, let it bleed and then rather than commiting full on suicide i say to myself that i would rather go full sisyphus and die from it rather than killing myself.

Here is a link to a pdf of the textbook we used for our discrete math course. I recommend it to any anon interested in a mental workout for the following: it is more accessible than a calculus course for most to immediately pick up and benefit from (there aren't really any prerequisites for discrete math, as compared to calculus); it covers everything you'll need to know at the beginning to do well in the course (basic formal logic, proofs, really elementary algebra/number theory); and, even though it will be immediately accessible to almost everyone, it is still a high enough math course to keep people interested / cover interesting topics. If you are into computer science or aspire to be, this material will also be both directly and indirectly useful.

Heres an example of some of the problems you will be able to solve just making getting through chapter 3

A special type of door lock has a panel with five buttons labeled with the digits 1
through 5. This lock is opened by a sequence of three actions. Each action consists of
either pressing one of the buttons or pressing a pair of them simultaneously.
For example, 12-4-3 is a possible combination. The combination 12-4-3 is the same
as 21-4-3 because both the 12 and the 21 simply mean to press buttons 1 and 2 simultaneously.
a. How many combinations are possible?
b. How many combinations are possible if no digit is repeated in the combination?
