It's also an actual band that's toured with Lamb of God, Mastodon, Machine Head and a handful of other big names with music composed by Brendon Small, who is a fantastic songwriter and musician. His solo album, Galaktikon, is one of the best records I've ever heard. Dethklok's music has satirical and humorous lyrics, but the meat of the music, the riffs and drum patterns, are just as well-crafted as any other "real" band out there. Dethalbum III is the most commercially-successful death metal album on the market, though II is my favorite. Listen to "The Galaxy" or "I Tamper With The Evidence At The Murder Site Of Odin" and tell me that's not some good fucking metal.
