I do HIITs every now and then, combined with bodyweight workouts. My cardio is pretty much covered and I get decent gains. I recommend it bro, HIIT is a very good way to cardio

that doesn't prove the hgh released leads to greater muscle gains, perhaps the body releases extra gh after hiit so your legs recuperate faster. They should do a 3 months study with 2 groups:
-regular cardio + lifting
-HIIT cardio + lifting
and then compare the muscle gains

Nope, I haven't tried intermitent. My workouts are any you can find on youtube channels or the Workout Trainer app by Skimble, which I'm putting a lot of attention.
