I stopped worrying about my chest so much and spread the love all over my upper body. As other anons have said work those traps. Not only did heavy shrugs feel fucking awesome and help develop my back, they did indeed even out my overall aesthetic look and made the chest gap less of a "shelf" and more of a pleasing gradual slope.

Brothers, for almost two months I did a narrow grip bench style with a lock-out and an emphasized clench with every rep.
I ignored the pain and thought it was just the workout. I was wrong.
When it finally got to the point of blinding pain and almost dropping the bar on myself, I had given myself Costichondritis, That up through today, is still with me and causing me pain, and making me be extra careful during my workouts.
Recovery takes months.
