Why does everyone shit on bro splits? Almost everyone that looks good did them on /r/progress, and even on here. There are like a handful of people I have seen get aesthetic from SS, SL etc.

I'm not doubting that SS and SL are better for strength gains, but if I've done SS for 6 months, is there any reason I shouldn't go on a bro split? They seem so fucking fun.

It doesnt matter. The results are basically the same - when you are a newb, routines are unimportant.

There are 3 conclusions here:
1) if you arent progressing on SS you wont progress on a split either. You need to fix your form your diet, whatever - dont just blame the program
2) do whichever one is more fun (and note that SS takes half the time)
3) Dont listen to retards on fit, they dont know shit.

Don't do that, it's a an attempt to troll newfags flooding the board for NYE, it's retarded. Now, as to what you SHOULD do. Most important part is diet If you're skelly, bulk, if you're fat, cut. Either way start eating AT LEAST .8g of protein per lb of bodyweight. Download MyfitnessPal and get used to people making fun of you for counting calories. Figure out how many calories you have to eat based on your TDEE and if you want to bulk or cut. Routinewise, most people here will tell you to start with SS to gain strength, but personally I don't think it's necessary, you can start with a full body routine, upper/lower split, PPL, or brosplit right off the bat, as long as you don't go for something that is too intense for a beginner that could result in injury. Read the sticky.

So how does a 4 or 5 day brosplit help your "aesthetics" if you're natty??

So I'm on a modified Greyskull LP, lifting 4 days a week with an A and a B day. So every compound gets done 2 times a week, some isolation are done twice a week and some isolation are once a week.

I'm curious to know how doing 3 different curls one day a week and doing like 4 different chest exercises one day once a week on a bro split is going to make me more "aesthetic" than doing bench and flies twice a week, incline bench once a week and pullovers once a week.

Someone explain please.

do my PPLPPLx but tune volume down a bit in the beginning. I've been doing this for 8 weeks. started with this but fatigue took over after week 1, so i went down to 3 sets per movement. past 2 weeks I've been doing 4 sets of everything.

Whats fun about having stupid stuff like shoulder or ab day? Is doing sit ups or lateral raises for an hour seem fun to you?
You train shoulders 1 day a week and train legs 1 day a week. Look at how small shoulders are compared to legs which is why all those "ripped" guys have such small legs.
Upper/lower or push pull legs split is much better for staying proportional and getting stronger.

Honestly I do a PPL because I enjoy being at the gym and lifting
I do each compound twice a week
Then do an accessory or 2 for each muscle group used on that day. Because I don't really care about if I do accessories at an impressive weight I go a lot harder on my compounds knowing that if I'm stuffed I can just go home.
One thing I have done is broken through the stall I had in my squat, i dont know if it was accessories strengthening my lagging muscles or if it was knowing that my squat was the only thing that matters on leg day but I'm progressing quicker now so I'm happy doing PPLPPLX

if you want to lift to look pretty and get girls then sure do brosplits but you're not going to get significantly stronger, you're going to isolate unimportant muscles that would be trained thoroughly through compounds and you're going to end up with alot of bloated weight that is not beneficial to you

bodybuilding is not healthy physically or mentally

You look at a 200 lb guy in the gym and then put him up against a 200 lb fighter in the UFC and the fighter is going to be much bigger, have a bigger frame and be more powerful (with all technique aside)

its dreadful, its a joke routine. Tbh, for your first couple months lifting i'd recommend SL 5x5 (or even SS) with plenty of accessory isolation work. When you're done with that, do candito linear. Then when you hit 1/2/3/4 you could do aesthetics training
