Alright guys serious question. I have bad insomnia and I can only sleep 2-3 hours a night. As a result I am not able to hit that sweet spot in the sleep cycle to recover properly. However after a couple hits of some weed I can pass out and sleep for a solid 6-7 hours. I'm not sure why it works like that but insomnia has always been a problem in my life and it's the only way I know to fix it without medication. My question is how does weed affect muscle growth? If I smoked a bowl before bed every night would I be helping or harming?

Smoking a bowl every night will have zero negative impact on your gains, lots of athletes and lifters smoke weed, it make actually help you if anything.

Weed fucks your sleep cycle up. I have been getting 8 hours of sleep the past year and smoke nightly. Wake up with extreme fatigue and perma bags under my eyes. Not saying anything bad, but just saying I feel like it hinders full healthy sleep senpai.

From what I've heard, weed causes you to not go into the deeper stages of sleep as much. Weed also tires you down in general whether you're sleeping or not. Atleast that's what I've experience. I usually smoke and sleep 10 hours and I'm fine. If you're having issues sleeping then I'd actually recommend it.

also for me weed (or seroquel) is the only way I can sleep normally, I rarely smoke though cause it's pretty expensive but when I do get some good weed I usually do nothing but smoke, sleep and eat for a few days and then if I keep smoking I'll get 7-10 hours a sleep a night.

weed shouldn't affect your gains in any way as long as you eat proper food and don't go to gym high as fuck. you'll prolly get a lot more gains just by sleeping more thanks to the ganjarino

if I could I would smoke every single day. rather the weed than some anti-psychotic medicine for sleep especially as I had quite a high dosage of 75mg just so I could sleep 6-8 hours

i go to the gym sometimes after a bong rip or two. it makes you feel fatigued but not being a bitch about it does well to counter that. lifting while high lets you feel the strain alot more so imo very good for bodybuilding

Weed suppresses REM sleep. This is why if you stop smoking for more than a week, your dreams get really crazy.

That being said, I usually smoke to help myself sleep. It hasn't affected my gains as far as I can tell.

Can confirm
I have smoked weed daily for the last 3-4 years and have quit for 6 months now. The first 2 weeks after quitting my REM sleep came back with a vengeance (crazy dreams / sweatting) but even tho I woke up 2 or 3 times a night, I generally felt alot more rested after waking up. Took like 3 months till my sleep pattern was completely normalized i'd say.

That being said, 6-7 hrs of shitty sleep is still better dan no sleep if you ask me
