Pull-ups: 10 minimum, 18 optimum

SWCC

500-yard swim: 13:00 minimum, 9:30 optimum
1.5 mile run: 12:00 minimum, 10:30 optimum

And in two minutes or less:

Push-ups: 50 minimum, 80 optimum
Curl-ups: 50 minimum, 75 optimum
Pull-ups: 6 minimum, 15 optimum
>>
Someone please convert the units to non-retarded thanks
>>
>>35325322
500 yard = 457 meter
1.5 mile = 2.41 Km
>>
>>35325302
I could hit optimum on all of that probably after a month of training.

>>35325322
Fuck off, SEALs are American dipshit.
>>
>>35325302
Everything except the swimming which is why ive started swimming every day. Always wanted to be a SEAL
>>
>>35325372

Why? Cause all the pussy u gonna get brah?
>>
>>35325302
fuck off with your retarded yards and shit.
Metric system is king!
>>
>>35325344
Oh wow really? That's not even hard then,do people seriously know what they have to do and fail?
>>
>>35325409
Not necessarily, just always valued the concept of being an elite warrior>>35325419
>>
>>35325302
>pull ups 10-18
Hahahaha Hahahaha
Honestly they physical training side of a seal is weak shit. From what I have heard it's the mental stuff that's actually hard. Sitting in the ocean being cold and yelled at for hours on end and shit
>>
>>35325302
I can't swim very well, so prob not. Everything else is easy
>>
>>35325302
You don't honestly think these are the physical requirements of their training, right? They go on regular 14 mile runs in sand, runs with logs, etc. In hell week they run 20+miles a day in addition to numerous other demanding tasks while maybe getting 4 hours of sleep a night. Running in a team carrying a heavy raft is a staple of seal training. Add in the fact that if you have the physical ability and mental fortitude to put up with months of grueling punishment you still may not be skilled enough to meet the tactical standards and will be cut simply because you aren't cut out.

Becoming a seal, or any special operations soldier for that matter, isn't an easy task, and it takes a special kind of man. If you want it, go for it though. If quitting or "eh maybe I don't have to do this" is ever an option in your mind, it ain't happening
>>
>>35325372
Be aware that these are the absolute bare minimums of the entry test
>>
>>35325829
>4 hours of sleep a night

More like 4 hours of sleep for the entire hell week.
>>
>>35325302

I'd be able to do it if I switched my training specifically for this and lost some muscle mass.

This good enough?
>>
Jesus Christ that is fucking pathetic, I'm a British reserve in an airbourne batallion in a non combat role and we have to run it in 9.30 or under.

Even the civvys going for the paras in selection have to run under 9.30, and these seals already have military experience right?
>>
>>35325829
Lol. I saw American sniper. Their training isn't that intense.
>>
>>35326310
That's just to get into bud/s.
>>
>>35325302
>Pull-ups: 10 minimum, 18 optimum

All the other stuff is intimidating but this seems way too low. Even when I was fat I could probably do close to that. Never had a problem with pull ups for some reason.
>>
>>35326332
>All the other stuff is intimidating but this seems way too low.

I'm pretty sure doing those pull ups after you've swam like a madman and done all the other exercises isn't going to be that easy
>>
>>35326794
this is just the test before the tryouts start

>are you fit enough to join [insert US military branch/division here]? HOORAH!

When will this stupid meme end? The only branch that matter is the Air Force. They carpet bomb the oponent so that le tough Navy Seal can come in and snipe the malnourished underage kids who managed to survive the bombing.

Sorry guys, if you're not flying a fighter jet or a drone, you're just a glorified cross fitter.

Case in point:

>>35326310
Yeah but that's metric time
>>
>>35325302
Well considering my best mile and a half was when I was sick and it was still a 9:50 I'm going to say I could definitely get to 9:30 with more cardio intensive training
>>
>>35326332
I'm pretty sure you didn't do actual pull ups. Wide grip, go down until you hang, and than up until chin is above bar. They are pretty difficult if you do them like that. Most people half rep them or mix up pull ups with chin ups, which are way easier.

>>35325302
I can't swim properly (never learned it), so I would probably fail at that. I'd have to see whether I'd manage the run, never tried that. I sometimes run 3 miles, but I only jog and never try hard.

The pushups are easy, I can do the 50 in one set, but probably won't manage the 90.

Never tried curl ups.

The pull ups are also alright, but I don't think I'll manage 18 proper pull ups.
>>
>>35325302
Cardio kills gains
>>
>>35325302
There is an entire documentary on youtube about the navy seal BUD camp. Hell week is literally hell, it isn't like they just ask you do do some pushups, swim, and run, and you pass the PT

watch that then talk about these reqs haha
>>
>>35326938
That broney salute makes me angry.
>>
>>35328051

Lol you don't event know how to do pullups. Wide grip? I bet you do wide grip benching and pushups. Wide grip is for pussies that want to shorten their range of motion. Shoulder width or they're not pullups.
>>
>>35328051
>pull ups are difficult
Found the fatty. I do strict weighted pull ups last thing on my pull day and depending if i went up on any weights I can do a set of 20 regular pull ups easy
>>
>>35325302

Are the push ups 50 in one go? They must be of course.

Tbh these are very low requirements.
>>
>>35328304

Found the shorty. What do you weight, 160 lbs?
>>
>>35328326
I'm 188cm 98kg at about 17%bf
I'm pretty DYEL but strict pull ups are not that hard
>>
>>35325360
>Fuck off, SEALs are American dipshit.
That's what he said, retarded
>>
Wouldn't want to be a seal. Glorified marines right now.
>>
>>35326280
>>35326310
Odd question but how much do you think the average para weighs?
>>
SWCC is fucking weak.

i run 3 km in 11 minutes, fucking amerifats.

Never measured my max in pull ups, but i've done 40 chin ups, 80 push ups and who the fuck does situps/crunches?

Weak.
>>
>>35325438
>just always valued the concept of being an elite warrior
You're exactly the type of person most specialized wings of any military are taught to weed out
>>
>>35328430
This and Americans compare them to the SASR and other elite groups.
SASR wipe the floor with them
>>
>>35325430
Nigger this is on top of all the other shit they have you do. That's what makes it hard.
>>
>>35328502
Yea i know and it's not that hard. At high school we did all that stuff listed to test our fitness several times a year in my advanced physical development class (think PE but we learn about how our body does what it does as well)
We did it with the near by cadets school. Its easier than everyone is talking it up to be
>our American troops do it so it must be really hard
>>
>>35328557
Felt like I should add not everyone could do it. Maybe 10% at the first time 30% halfway and 50% at the end of the year
If you take out the people who aren't motivated to try reach it it's probably 80% made it
>>
>>35325302
Yes, and I'm a horrifying lanklet. These are the absolute minimum requirements, the shit they use to weed out fat wannabees.

I'm training for the SEALs and going to the PSTs to score a contract. The core of my workouts are dips and pullups. Would my pull ups and dips increase by doing them weighted and in the 5-8 range or should I focus on increasing reps with bodyweight?

My Mentor told me to drop weights completely and focus on bodyweight, but I at least wanna know if weighted dips and pull ups would be okay
>>
>>35325302
>9min optimum for 457m
What the fuck? That is slow as fuck. I thought seals were supposed to be man frogs?
>>
>>35328904
All those stats are bare minimums.

The SOF entry to selection is very low. SF only requires you to pass the apft with a 260, but very very very few make it with that low of score.
>>
>>35328766
I used to dip with lmao1plate and eventually increasing to 2 plate+, 8-10 reps the entire time. Once in awhile I would test my bodyweight dips, and I could do 40ish
>>
>>35328932
But it's not, it's the optimum time. The bare minimum according to OP is 12min30, which is just ridiculous.
>>
>>35325302
>implying these aren't just the minimum standards to qualify for indoc
>implying you wouldn't get your ass smashed 6 ways to sunday if you weren't far better than this

These numbers are just to get into bud/s, its not like if you can do that you become a seal, holy shit you dense motherfuckers.

>>35325302

Pretty sure even trappy could do those.
