Adverse possession for real property as opposed to personal property is usually set at over two decades in the us. Property rights are very important so the law makes it hard to liar property. Add in some states using discovery rule and it's really hard to lose property via adverse possession
Chattel is a lot less, typically 3 years I think, but also subject to the discovery rule in many instances
