That's blood, obviously. It bleeds under the skin and distributes over the whole area. Sometimes it needs to be stitched together, sometimes not, it depends on how severe the damage is and whether the loss of the pulled strings is tolerable. Muscles that are completely torn off are very very rare and if it happens, it's usually a sign that the guy who managed that is a retard.
This picture is old but if you did do something like that pic don't listen to the others, muscle growth comes from micro tears in muscles so a large one like that could build so much muscle m8
