Well... fats are less troublesome to be around with, so long as you're not stuck with them in tiny spaces. Smokers will smoke and then by consequence YOU will smoke second-hand. So fats are better here.
But I wouldn't be surprised if the costs of fatness were bigger. Smokers are at least as productive as normal (with the exception f some smoke breaks) and they'll die before being a burden, I guess. Fat people will work like shit and be a burden from the get-go.

Most people I know who are regular smokers have the poor people mentality, or does it in order to seem cool and "deep". Smoking is generally banned in public unless its in a park or a street. Most smokers don't have a noticeable smell, so when they're not smoking, their shitty habits don't bother people around them.
