The bar doesn't count as weight idiot, the bar is there to counteract the negative gravity caused by your muscles exerting themselves. If the bar wasn't there than 2pl8 would weight less since your muscles energy giving it momentum when you move it causes some of the gravitational pull of the earth on the weights to be sheared off.

Saving this for future "should i count the bar" questions kek.
>>
>>35291414
Go to the moon and see how much you can bench child, less gravitational energy exerted on the bar the more gravity your muscles can subtract. The moon has 1/3 the density of the earth with 1/2 the size, this equals 75% gravity. 2pl8 on the moon would weight 58lbs, combining that with the 20kilos negative gravity your body can produce would mean 2pl8 weighs 13lbs!

Weightlifting is a science kid, not a contest of brute force. One must always figure in a person's ability to negate gravity, the gravity of the surrounding area(gym), density of the bench material(soft means less of the surrounding areas gravity is exerted on you), and the melting point of the materials being lifted( lifting ice dumbbells in an environment above 32°F causes the gravitational particles of the planet to melt out of them with each rep).

Tldr open a fucking book kid

The bar has mass.
Mass =/= Weight.

This^
Considering youre not supposed to count the bar in your lifts, OP didn't bench anything
>>
>>35291688
>implying mass determines how heavy something is

A barbell with 3pl8 falls as the same rate as a feather in a vacuum bro..
>>
>>35291688

F=ma

Weight is a force

Therefore weight does equal mass, just multiplied by acceleration
>>
>>35291670

Now this is some quality shitposting
>>
>>35290663
Are you in middle school? Because that's when I could bench the bar.
>>
>>35291688
You stupid kid, even these other anons shut you up before I could. >>35291766
>>35291785

But here's where you idiots are wrong, mass is in fact equal to the amount of negative gravity distributed by OTHER objects of mass (you understand, it is the force of surrounding objects which give each other mass)

Here is an example, if I were in space and alone I would indeed have no mass as no negative gravity is forced onto me. BUT we were to put another object next to me, I would then begin to have mass inversely equal to its mass.

So OP could be a grill. And I can hope that it is my grill who secretly started lifting behind my back
>>
>>35290778
good job grill you're on your whey
>>
>>35291889
>implying being in space wouldn't give you the inverse of the suns mass
>sun is 100% mass so you become 1% of the suns mass
>you can now exert enough negative gravity to move a moon

BTW this is a deadlift hack
>>
>>35291966
Are you retarded, not even close to what I easily explained.

And you Americans wonder why the rest of the world believe you're so uneducated!
>>
>>35291931
My gf can bench more than me
I'd swap places with you
>>
>>35291986
>implying the sun isn't next to you when you're in space

Don't forget the 9 other planets too Gaylord
>>
>>35291670
You forgot to factor in the normal force that gravity exerts on you at all times

If you weigh 150 lbs the earth is also pushing up on you with 150 lbs, transferring it into any lifts you do

Meaning if you bench anything below your bodyweight you are literally lifting negative weight
