because he's doing 5x1. a novice can add 10 lb a week for months if he's just doing singles.

Eat alot more, and use mix gripped. .. When you rest , make sure you still eat high protein , it will recover u , for deadlift day

Train your ass off. Kill yourself in the gym by training high intensity and max volume all the time. That's what I did, probably not the best method, but it worked for me.

I had a 130kg squat in like 8 months with 5x5. You don't need the Texas Method for a 3 pl8 squat. Just saying.
