When do you use creatine?

https://strawpoll.me/6283065
>>
first
>>
should i load 20g for the first 5 days?
>>
According to research shared by ProfDrAndro of Suppversity, post-workout creatine supplementation is most effective. I usually only take it on the weekends, though, due to time constraints.
>>
creatine gets you butt cancer
>>
>>35272221
No need.
I usually snort my creatine 10-15 mins before workout.
>>
Hey I forgot to take my creatine fir 2 days, am I fucked?
>>
>>35272367

Ya bro you're totally fucked. Just give up
>>
Say adiĆ³s to your hair, amigos.
>>
Serious question, if I'm genetically predisposed to male pattern baldness should I avoid creatine?
>>
>No during lifting option

Ya fucked up OP
>>
>>35272148
>When do you use creatine
>before workout
>after workout

Creatine has no immediate effect. It doesn't matter if you take it before or after workout. What is important is that you take creatine with a lot of carbs since insulin helps with absorption.

A loading phase is not required. 5g creatine per day should be enough.

There are scholarly journals about creatine and hair loss. I'm on my phone, but I literally have several saved on my pc.

Google it.

it's like smoking, we know it's bad for your lungs but not everybody will instantly develop illness
>>
>>35272621
Not the guy with the journals here, but if I remember right, creatine has a minor effect on testosterone and DHT production over a long term.
Although it's not going to make you shed like taking steroids, that little bit extra may help bring on MPB if you are already predisposed.

Same as steroids, if you're going to lose it to creatine, you're going to lose it eventually anyway, all it does is speed it up slightly.

take 5g in my shake err day. on workout days, its post workout.
>>
I like creatine but cant take it during the cold months.
It is not the sole cause of this but it is the only thing that, when I remove it, the process reverses
> on my fingers
> layers below initial skin layer start to open up (takes weeks)
> Fingers look like they have open sores that dont reach the intial skin layer
> sores are painful to touch, increase in size preventing fingers from fully squeezing shut (painful/impossible to get a tight grip)
This only happens when the highs are below 50 degrees
>>
>>35276529
Might get that checked anon. I'm working out outside (currently around 42 degrees) and never had this problem. Taking creatine since a few months
>>
I've used it for many months but I stopped due to the DHT increase and I don't wanna bald
that said, I did find a study that found it was more effective post workout
BUT, my theory is that it's because if you take it pre workout, and you workout, it depletes your glycogen stores
Creatine is also more effective when you boost your insulin so if you take it post workout and have some food to get your glycogen stores and insulin up etc it will be more effective
Completely broscience for the reasoning but there was a study
cba to find it though
>>
>>35276580
I stopped taking it a few days ago and all the shit on the fingers is healing nicely. This has only happened when I use creatine daily during the cold months. Sucks because I do like creatine. Current creatine I use is "con-cret".
Docs around here couldnt diagnose anything, so no creatine for a while.

Higher testosterone is linked to higher rates of baldness. Working out is linked to higher rates of testosterone. Surprise surprise, creatine use is also linked to higher testosterone rates, probably because the people who use creatine also work out, because why would you use creatine if you aren't working out? The people who say using creatine makes you bald are confused because the confounding variable is testosterone and working out.

The fact of the matter is: If it's in your genes and destiny to go bald, you're going to go bald. If not, you won't.

Jujimufu has been using creatine for nearly 15 years and he has a full head of hair. You guys need to stop freaking out.

CREATINE only produces more ATP. IT has nothing to do with muscle lock ups and shit.

Its in your body already .. you just add more. Also it takes a few weeks for it to actually have an effect (saturation). It doesnt work day 1 like that.

Was there a control group that used a placebo? Also, if athletic activity is linked to an increase in DHT then I don't know how that's even relevant to what we're talking about, since DHT would increase regardless of creatine usage. It just so happens that people who use creatine also tend to workout, which makes sense because why would you use creatine if you weren't working out?

Some of you fuckers are just bound to go bald. That's just the truth. That's how it works. Of course some men who use creatine go bald because some men go bald.

This fucker right here [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vho4JuAER9o] has been using creatine (and god knows what else) since he was 15. He's almost 30 now. Look at his fucking hairline. Look at it. Some people get bald and others don't. Get the fuck over it.
>>
>>35281730
the only argument I heard to buy the "Creapure" is that it's produced in Germany (and it's "micronized" if you have digestive issues from creatine)
but it actually tested worse in labdoor. of course different batches may vary and so on.
>>
>>35281578

You lock up when your atp is depleted and there isnt a smooth transition of muscle fibers disconnecting.

This could have actually been caused by the creatine and the body is still adjusting to it. Maybe the body thought look at all this fucking atp we got but it was just nowhere near where he needed it yet. maybe a traffic issue.

Idk but it could have been the creatine if you think about it really deep.

Anyway, creatine is a wonderful substance. Just buy the one in OPs pic and take a tea spoon a day. You may not become stronger or faster, but the drop in inflammation and increase in ATP will allow you to do a few more sets maybe a few more reps too here and there.

Personally I can lift without rest days on creatine and without it I need to take a rest day every 2 days.
>>
>>35281792
Yes, there was a control group "Double-blind placebo-controlled crossover study": http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19741313

And anyway, why would DHT increase regardless? It's not like they weren't athletes before the trial. But yes, it's significant that there was a control group.

>This fucker right here [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vho4JuAER9o] [Embed] has been using creatine (and god knows what else) since he was 15.

they're not like that, they don't take corporate money. it actually started as a grass roots testing movement on reddit, i think they're honest people. the only problem is that they can't test every batch.
>>
>>35281918
>It's not like they weren't athletes before the trial.

Good point that I overlooked.

I'm still not convinced though. Men go bald with age, creatine or no. If you're at risk for MPB you're probably gonna get hit regardless of using creatine.

testing costs money. "buy now links" just means they get commission from people like you and me buying stuff online. that's the opposite of corporate sponsorship.

when you shoot up a lot of test and your body doesn't know what to do with it, it converts it to estrogen. that may help with hair.

money ofc. Fitness Industry is a billion dollar industry.

Get the top protein/creatine product on the market and you make millions.

Use Forums/Websites/YouTubers/other form of social media to get people to say that your product works.

Fund "studies" that show your product is working and completely safe.

Become millionaire.

Advanced shit like using reddit to disguse your intentions would just be the icing on the cake but it happens a lot on reddit so i wouldnt be surprised if it happened here.

Im not saying it did. It still can be legit. Good if it is.

Hows it bad to be skeptical anyway? Worst thing you can do is be gullible imo.
