Yet another of the popular vegan myths debunked

It must suck for vegans that reality keeps getting in the way of their "healthy" diet

that is the difference between vegans and not vegans.

not vegans , which are 95% of fit an99.9999 of the world population, do not care about vegans.

They only respond to their outrageous bait threads.

If being a vegan is so great, how come it's more expensive to be one? If I bought chicken in bulk, milk or eggs, it's cheaper and easier. Try hitting a 140grams of protein as a vegan eating around 2,100 calories or so. You can't do it. Their answer is to eat more and more. I'd rather eat real chicken than buying a fake product or use a scam vegan protein powder. You need their processed garbage to even think of hitting those numbers on a moderate to low calories.

69 cents a lb for oats?

You still can't eat 140 grams of protien on 2 thousand calories as a vegan without buying special products. Carbs arent expensive, no shit. Don't know what you're trying to say, neither is chicken in bulk.
16oz of chicken is like 80-100 grams of protein for around 450-500 calories. Then you can get protein from anywhere.

Does anyone read articles anymore?

The study was done in terms of calories. So they evaluated the carbon emissions of bacon and lettuce in terms of an equal caloric measurement.

Bacon has 541 calories in 100 grams.

Lettuce has 15 calories in 100 grams.

So you need 36 times more lettuce than bacon to get an equal caloric measurement, which is obviously going to produce a large amount of carbon emissions, despite vegetarian/vegan diets obviously contributing less to CO2 emissions.

It's not like people eat 541 calories worth of lettuce in a sitting, so this headline is insanely misleading. It's so stupid.

2lb for $1 for yams
88 cent lb for butternut squash, spaghetti squash, acorn squash, roma tomatoes, green beans, apples, pears
98 cents a lb for navel oranges

$1.77 lb for boneless skinless chick thighs, breasts
>>
No one is saying carbs are expensive. I can buy one big pack of chicken breasts for 8-10 dollars and have it last me the week basically. As vegan you're spending more on fake meat products to hit your needs.

Quoted from his channel: "your vegan bodybuilder diet should be like 80 percent carbs, 10% protein, 10% fats (80-10-10)."

These guys look like shit compared to the first guy who uses 80/10/10, and if you don't lift weights who gives a fuck what your daily calories are?
>>
This is a clickbait article, they measured it per calorie, of course you're going to have to eat a fuckload of lettuce to match bacon in terms of calories.

>>35275315
Gorillas also eat like 60 lbs. of food a day. So yeah, enjoy your gorilla diet I guess.

>Lettuce is “over three times worse in greenhouse gas emissions than eating bacon”, according to researchers from the Carnegie Mellon University who analysed the impact per calorie of different foods in terms of energy cost, water use and emissions.
>the impact per calorie

“Eggplant, celery and cucumbers look particularly bad when compared to pork or chicken.”

Who the hell is advocating switching from meat to a diet made entirely of lettuce and celery? Obviously if you're trying to get 2000+ calories out of lettuce or any other leafy food you're going to use a huge amount of space. Whole grains, legumes, and potatoes are what people are suggesting, not getting your calories from eggplants and cucumbers.

Did you even read that article, OP?
