I got incredibly DOMS after my first gym session, every muscle in my body was aching and I could barely get into and out of my car. Ever since then I havn't got it at all. How do I get my DOMS back? I've worked every muscle to failure but it feels like within 3 hours I could go back in and do my entire routine all over again

Take a week or two off

I fucking love doms. I am pretty new to lifting and the first week I could barely function as a human being. Now I just get tired and it does not feel nearly as intense. Just thinking about stretching with doms makes me happy

Why do you want to be in pain?

Eat plenty of protein and get a lot of sleep. That will give your body the tools and time it needs to repair.

It's the feeling of knowing you've achieved something. Feeling exactly the same the day after a tough workout makes me wonder if I actually challenged myself enough even though I worked out to failure
