I'm just planning to start gym next week. Lurking about /fit/ stuff, I downloaded Starting Strength book and started reading about.
But, to fully read the book, I'll took a long time to finish. So, my question is: I really have to read all parts or can I skip a few (just jump to "how to do" part instead of reading all "neuromuscular system" before)?

I want to build a kit set car, ill skip the why everything needs to be a certain way and just start bolting it together
The car will work but I won't have learnt anything about why or how a car works
fuck off new years faggot
I've Read SS a few times and I never understood one certain part.
It mentions how your lifts will be which ratio from your body weigh (at minimun) but never states 1. If those are 1RMs and 2.if it's off your starting bodyweight or current bodyweight

Read everything but Chapter 8 (diet and programming). Then do any other beginner program.

>r 8 (diet and programming). Then do any other beginner program.
What? Why?

His diet advice is shit, and his program is mediocre at best. The book's entire value is in learning the lifts.

Because telling people not to do SS is a meme
>>35243803
Memes aside, SS is really good for easy beginner gainz. Your legs will thank you

I did SS, i read the book. I would recommend it to any beginner
DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID.
GREYSKULL LP > SS
Trust me brother OP. Then when you are strong and big, get a cut and do PPL for aesthetics.
Read the entire book before even thinking about stepping into a gym. Everyone else there will have read it and will try to talk to you about it. Once they find out you haven't finished it, you'll probably be kicked out.

Go brosplit man, seriously. I've been doing one for like 6 months with no prior significant experience and im already kinda ripped and getting compliments. If i would've chosen to do SS instead I'd just look like a fucking box (in fact, i probably wouldn't have grown a lot), I would be a lot stronger though (but who gives a fuck about that). Good bro split + diet is the best way to go. And on that last note, DONT skip the diet, i made the mistake of going the first 5 months without controlling what I ate, and know that im counting calories I feel like if I had done it from the start I would look a lot better now.

Are you high?

This.
Greyskull LP, or Candito's beginner program.
SS is not bad, it's one of the better programs for beginner, but there are better programs out there.
The book is recommended for the info it provides about the lifts and how shit works.
