Get a little bit drunk beforehand, it's a lot easier tog et into character. Also, don't be afraid to get into character! It's literally why you're there.
MEMORIZE YOUR ABILITIES. If you're a fighter, just learn how much damage your weapons do, and what you roll to hit. If you play a spellcaster, write down your spells and their effects.
I'd love to play some D&D, but they'd have to really walk me through it the first few campaigns.

It's not that complicated, Anon. Learn what your character does - if you're a fighter, how many dice do you roll when you attack? If you hit, how many damage dice do you roll? That's really the hard mechanical side of it, knowing how many dice you roll in a circumstance. The rest is just talking shit and having fun.
