my lower back is really sore after deadlifting 2 days ago but i only feel it when i move, is this normal?
>>
If your form was like his then your fucked lol... It's normal
>>
Form is on point
>>
Is it soreness or pain?

If it's soreness, it just means your back muscles are getting used to it and your lift is working.

If it's a shooting pain that's radiating, that's not good. Rest and work on form.

First off the dude in OP pic has the most atrocious DL form I have ever seen, literally the worst possible form you could have. I usually do not help people at all in the gym, but if I saw that guy I would immediately stop him and teach him how to not be in a wheelchair at 40. So I seriously hope you are not that guy.

The first question I would ask is how often you DL? I DL 60 reps per week 2x10 3x per week this week was 225/235/245lbs. So if you are new or you dont DL for a lot of reps per week then your Erectors are probably growing (google Erector Spinae) and when they get sore (or get le pump) it can be very uncomfortable if you do know what is going on. This is by far the most common "soreness" associated with DLs that people complain about other than maybe Obliques.

As the anon above said, dull pain (soreness) is good and is essentially your muscles growing. Sharp shooting pain means a nerve is fucked and is a bad thing.
>>
>>35224968
The guy is probably just setting up and has not straightened his back yet.
You on the other hand should not give advice if your deadlift is that weak.
Come back when those numbers are kg.
>>
>>35224968
i just started deadlifting last week
>>
>>35225366
>You on the other hand should not give advice if your deadlift is that weak.

I can DL 4plate numbnuts, I was simply listing what I did for reps in the past week. autistic retard. I cant do 60 reps of a high% of my 1 RM and do all of the other movement work I need to do without frying my CNS, you would probably know this if you actually lifted or did anything besides your 3x5 fatboy SShit.

Hurrr durrr your 1RM = how good ur form iz lel .... kill yourself idiot.

>>35225876
>i just started deadlifting last week

Yes this explains it, it is just your Erectors growing. You can have your gf put her weight through her hands onto your Erectors (show her the anatomical picture) to massage them, or you could foam roll yourself, or you could deal with it.

It will go away once your Erectors become accustomed to the work.
>>
>>35224245
I turned the lights on in my house and the room became brighter, is this normal?
>>
>>35226206
So 4plate is your 1 rep max? That's not exactly impressive m8.
>>
>>35224245
I got that my first few times, if your form is good then just strengthen up the muscles
>>

Jesus Christ you don't know anything just link him to an article instead of spewing your half baked ideas.

Not him, but it's pretty impressive to people who aren't 4chan autists
>>

Shut the fuck up retard, doing sixty reps with 2pl8 is garbage and bragging about a 4pl8 deadlift is ridiculous. YOU ARE A BEGINNER WITH THOSE NUMBERS YOU DONT NEED TO PLAY COACH.
>>
>>35228513
>4pl8 DL

About to start BB in some weeks.

I'm concerned about fucking up my body. I intend to start real light, nothing on bar, and proceed with SL that way until form is perfect.

I watched tutorials a shitloads of time and will watch them again to ensure perfect form.

If I work on form a lot and increase weight slow as fuck, can I ensure an absence of injuries? Bar accidents and such.
>>
>>35228560
In powerlifting it would be. A sub 1000 total isn't anything crazy, I definitely wouldn't say it's weak though

>>
>>35228560
A healthy average sized male will get to 405lbs on deadlift in a year or less. It's nothing.
>>
>>35228738
Has nothing to do with /plg/

If you brag about weak lifts, you get called out.
>>
>>35228584
Ensure an absence? Not entirely, there's always an inherent amount of danger (As with doing anything physically challenging)

Severely reduce? Absolutely. I prefer SL over SS, just from preference as a beginner program because you're doing more reps, which helps establish good form when you're a beginner. I've been doing SL for my first 3 months of lifting and I haven't been injured yet.

Focus on form, doesn't matter the program.

>OP asks for advice
>weak retard says stupid shit
>people tell him he shouldn't be giving advice
>weak retard spergs out and tells people to kill themselves along with more stupid shit

If you think someone who builds his workout around doing 2x10 2pl8 deadlifts 3x a week should be giving advice then /fit/ is officially dead.

Not quite relevant but you guys don't have a stupid question thread so I'll try my luck here

I've added squats back to my workout after not doing them since highschool and I'm having a bit of pain in my right hip. I'm concerned I'm doing something wrong with my form. My ankles are fucked to hell and I've had surgery on one, so I have a little trouble keeping knees over ankles and my feet tend to point outward.

Is there something in particular I'm doing wrong that would cause pain in my hip during and after squats? I know they're a really good exercise to do but if I can't figure out why I'm getting this pain is there a good alternative exercise(s) to replace it?
>>
>>35228993
>Falling for the squat meme

Don't do this. Squats and deadlifts are t-rex troll lifts that just make you fat and unaesthetic.
>>
>>35224245
Yeah that's normal.

You won't notice it after a few months
>>
>>35228560
I started DL at 2pl8 now on 4pl8 5x5 in 3 months. I've never tried 1repmax but I assume to be 5pl8. Although I'm a big guy.
>>
>>35229014
Hah I'm already fat and unaesthetic so I'm immune to their harmful effects.
>>
>>35224245
My hamstrings were so sore after starting to deadlift that I couldn't walk. Make sure you stretch out REALLY well before doing them. After a few weeks you wont get sore anymore.

hey bud. i think you think 2pl means 1 pl and 4 pl means 2 pl.

5pl is not 2.5 plate.

Vids or you're just e statting

And you think you know anything at all, why?
Wait until you get into actual heavy weights, if your form IS correct you will have occasional lumbar DOMS depending on how susceptible to DOMS you are.
>>
>>35231352
That dude's face, holy shit.
>>
I feel a lot of pain in my lower back but I don't curl my back or anything. One day I'll pull 455 for 2 then two days later ill struggle 405 for 1 because my lower back is just fucked. Should I just not deadlift twice a week?

60-80 reps bro

Watch yootoobs for form tips and experiment a bit with your stance and muscle activation and shit. When you finish a session and your hip doesn't feel like shit then stick with that.

neither of those comments are mine dude, are you retarded?

guy #1 says he goes from 2pl8 to 4pl8
guy #2 keks about counting plates wrong
i greentext both with cartman face

and you ask me for a video?
and then say "i proved his point"?

fucking kids these days...

Try push pull legs or canditos linear or his 6 week, nigger
60-80 reps of deadlift every other day is among crossfit tier retardation.

then why on earth are you giving form critique?

He's asking for the guy claiming to pull 4 plates in 3 months for vids. Looks like he replied to the wrong person but you're still stupid as fuck for not connecting the dots.

after squats and deadlifts my lower back feels kinda archy the next day, like im sticking my butt out. Is this normal tightness or am I fucking my shit up?

DL noob here (added deadlifts last month). My form is ok (no lower back rounding) but a few hours after I deadlift I get a weird sensation at the base of the spine or near the tailbone. Its painful, I just don't know wtf it is? Is it just muscle soreness/tiredness or am I on the road to snapcity?
