>Bench is stuck at 115 lbs
Is there any point?
what sets and reps are you benching? what's your max? if your max is 115 you need to be deloading and reloading.
don't give up. i've always sucked at bench but you'll get there.
>>35220285
>is there any point?
not with that attitude, fuckface
>>35220285
my advice is to do 6 sets of 4 to 6 reps, gradually ticking up the reps and once you reach 6x6 you drop back to 6x4 and increase the weight, two sessions a week
SS plus GOMAD
>>35220324
Doing SS so 3x5.
Haven't tried to find my max.
>>35220335
or just do 5x5 like the rest of the world
>>35220351
medhi is a weakling. back to reddit
>>35220360
so are you kuk. whts your point
Get a spotter. Start benching two or three times a week. 4x5 of your rep weight, 1xF of 10lbs less than your reps. I did this when stalling at 175 max for two months. Month and a half later, I'm at 205 max.
It worked for me, maybe give it a try? Also be sure to consume enough protein and calories in general.
>>35220372
>ask advice on how to get your bench up
>ignore said advice because it disagrees with what you're doing
ok
>>35220350
Deload, eat more, sleep more and try again, worked for me
>>35220378
not samefag. try again
>>35220335
saw one BB dot com where you do 8-12 reps.
like this:
day 1 115lb 3x8
day 4 115 3x9
day 8 115 3x10
etc..
once you hit 3x12, you bump it to 120lb and do 3x8, then 3x9, etc...
built in deloading.
>>35220396
i'm just telling you what worked for me. you don't have to do it if you don't want to
i'm a slow bench gainer OP, it might take a couple years before you can do lmao2plaet but it can be done.
in my highschool days i went from like 60 lbs to 235 in two years of benching.
hitting 1 plate is a big ego booster for any lift, and you're close. you gotta want that 135 and you'll get it.
definitely get someone to spot you. that's my only complaint about benching by yourself.
how's your OHP looking OP?
>>35220398
what? I was literally just elaborating on your technique showing it could also apply for different rep ranges & use the same technique. I didn't advocate the technique or attack it, just added my 2cents about how versatile this technique is. Why are you so defensive?
>>35220386
I failed my first 115 set at the 3 rep and struggled to do the last two reps after I reset.
Deloaded to 110 and completed them fine.
Maybe I need to eat more?
>>35220406
>>35220377
Ive got a rack and workout alone.
>how's your OHP looking OP?
Pretty shit.
Im doing 62 lbs.
>>35220444
you need to build more muscle
>>35220444
thats another good technique. instead of deloading, you bust through platues by adding 100 cal. For example if you're stalled at 115, increase you current cal by 100 daily. If after 3 weeks you haven't increased your lifts, add another 100 cal.
>>35220285
How much do you weigh?
How long have you been lifting?
How long have you been stuck?
And how many reps each session have you been stuck at?
>>35220511
>5'11 150lbs
>2 Months of SS
>Ive been stuck at 115 for the past 4 sessions
I can complete the first 3 reps of the first set. On the second set I can only complete the first rep(after 5+ minutes of rest)
>>35220595
Tbh, try getting some 1.25lbs plates and using those for presses, you'll be able to milk out linear progression a LOT longer. Also I don't want to say "fuck SS, do my sweet beginner routine instead," but here goes:
A
SQ/BP
B
DL/OHP
C
SQ/BP
D
PC/OHP
Chins A/C, dips B/D. Higher weekly volume, a little more balanced, more frequency for bench and press.
Why does everyone love 1pl8? I'm a natural skelly and I hit 1pl8 on my second week, just by plain eating more. If you can't lift 1pl8 just quit lifting and find a new hobby like shoe collections
deload add more volume
Just eat more you are small for your height and do more reps.
Yes 5x5 is great for getting strong if u have a base but you aint got shit nigga. Literally skeleton mode. Grab 95lbs and press it as many times as you can then 105 then 115 then back down and back up. Do this till you can move the bar then drop the weight and keep going. Each set is as many reps as you can get aiming for 8.
>>35220736
can't move the bar****
>>35220701
Kill yourself
>>35220285
eat moar faget
>>35220285
what would happen if you benched every day for three months? Try harder, fucker
>>35220701
some people had no strength coming into a gym. another factor is arm length, shorter rom, easier lifts, please dont tell me you are under 5feet and the bar moves 10 inches from starting position.
>>35220285
Eat more.
Seriously.
>>35220701
We're all gonna make it, faggot. Everyone fights, No one quits.
>>35220285
Eat more
5x5 sucks for newer lifters, adding 5lbs a week isnt possible if youre only benching once a week
I feel you OP.
Been doing an lmaobrosplit with my buddy for about 2.5 months and we've both been stuck on 115 for like 3 weeks.
I started ICF 5x5 literally just today, and moving up to 120 next week seems scary. Doesn't help that winter break is starting now, so being able to eat thouasands of calories at college dining halls is not going to happen. I'm scared brah, I need to eat if I wanna bench a plate for sets by january
>>35220412
P sure he thought you were OP and ignoring sound advice. He didn't seem that defensive, though, bro.
I may take that though, my bench has stalled a bit, but I've been deloading on my 3rd set of 8, but that's more to keep from dropping it on myself.
You're not eating enough protein or you're not getting enough sleep.
I left 115 after 2 weeks of training.
Eat more.
Sleep more.
Drink more water.
Accessorize your bench with dumbell bench and incline dumbell bench.
>>35221360
>I left 115 after 2 weeks of training.
not everyone is a mutant
but yes, he's probably not eating enough
what weight did you guys start with? i had 7.5lbs on each side, better than just the bar i guess..... at 105 now.
>>35221413
2 20lb dumbbells in HS, 85 when I first started actually lifting
>he doesn't know the one weird trick discovered by a working single mother of two school teacher
>>35220285
>be me
>start lifting ~6 months ago
>could only bench 65 pounds
yes I said 65 fucking pounds
>now at 135

Like other anons have said, eat more, drink more water, get more sleep. I actually had an easy time with the diet (water was basically all I drank anyway) and I ate a lot already. I switched over to healthier foods, eggs, chicken, fish, etc. Surprisingly, I wasn't seeing as much of a result as I had wanted to at first. Then I started getting a better nights sleep. A full 8-8.5 hours of sleep made a world of difference for me over even 7 or 7.5 hours.

>tfw bench is stuck at 315
OP is beta fag
>>35221413
Started at 10 lbs (3.75 kg on each side) on each side 1 year later cut and now bulkan 242 (110) for 5.
Thank you SS and TM.
>>35221413
Started with fuckin 55lbs (bar + 5s), and struggled with that shit.
I'm at 115 now, hoping to hit 135 by january
>>35221232
>>35221256
>>35221395
I found doing variations to work well like other anon said.
>>35220285
Your posture and or form are probably holding you back. You could be eating too little as well.
>>35221843
You don't count the bar m8
6 eggs
1/2 gallon of milk
6 scoops of protein
1 cup broccoli
6 chicken thighs
