A year ago I could barely leg press 4 plates (2 on each side) for 8 reps. I started squatting half a year later, and now I just did the leg press again and it's astonishing how easy the 4 plates were. I could have done easily 20+reps. Also, my legs have gotten so much bigger from squatting.

I did leg press before getting into squat, which I'm fairly new, I could do 100kg for 5x10 in the damn leg press, now I do 20kg/3x10 with zercher squats, the posture alone is far more difficult to master than the damn entire leg press itself, squat is like the king of legs, fuck the leg press.

try sidestep squats with just bar or bodyweight. 20 reps each leg for 1 set. it hurts like hell but it's good for improving FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH. no but seriously.. ever since i started doing them i've seen strength gains and im on a caloric defacit
