-high in iron and other micronutrients
-as high in antioxidants as wine
-same calories as other light beer
-low alcohol content
-unidentified anti-fatigue factor
-filling as fuark

Why aren't you drinking a Guiness a day for optimum health and fitness?
>>
Because I'm not an alcoholic trying to justify drinking
>>
Guineas is alright but is much better on tap and I don't want to always go to the bar that serves it with nitrogen or whatever

>>
>>35203955
Yesssssss I only get guiness on tap. Although I've never had a nitrogen guiness
>>
>>35203955
>>35204444
If you get the cans with the widget and pour it upside down into a pint glass it tastes the same.
>>
>>35204506
For real? I cannot fucking stand the cans with the ball thing, it doesn't seem to do jack shit for the beer.
>>
Guinness in the US has never been impressive to me. Any travellers have anything to say about UK Guinness? Stout season is in.
>>
because beer is yucky
>>
>>35204548
I dunno I've never done a side by side but I've always liked it from the can. I've heard the trick is to pour it totally upside down, otherwise the ball doesnt work. But I dunno, I'm not too picky.
>>
bump for gainz
>>
>>35204548
don't drink it from the can.

pop it then pour it hard into a glass and it will do that bubbly thing like draught guinness
>>
>>35206961
Nah sip it out the can like I did on my school ski trip back in the day then lob the cans out the window because you're scared as fuck of being caught

Tastes lovely I assure you
>>
>>35204729
UK guinness kek. it is nicest in dublin. it's nice through the rpublic of ireland. outside that it is a different drink and horrible.
>>
>>35207939
Dublin fag here. It's good in the UK but Ireland is the best place to get it, big surprise
>>
>>35207986
kerry fag reporting in. murphy's ftw
>>
I drink Guiness in Greece from those ball thingy cans.

I went to Dublin and Kilkenny two weeks ago and had it on tap.

Tastes the same.

Take the can, pour it upside down or at least faster than normal. Pour out 3/4ths of the can.
Wait for the beer in the glass to ease up, 30 secs or so. The milk-chocolate colour should become darker. (the nitrogen bubbles in the beer go up and out).

After those 30-40 secs, the bubbles should be out and the brew in the glass will be properly black. Now pour in the rest of the can.

The trick is to let the nitrogen get out before you pour the last, leaving only a specific amount (the last 1/4 pour). Nitrogen tastes bitter.
>>
>>35207939
good guinness doesn't travel outside the pale
>>
>>35208021
do you not find guinness from a can a much thinner drink? smooth and creamy draught guinness is not comparable to canned imo

triple fermentation up in this bitch
>>
>>35208045
No, I felt the consistency is the same. I drank.more than 10 pints daily in Dublin, and the difference was in temperature because every barman knew to serve it at 6 degrees and would tell you to pour it out if you took to long to finish it.

Maybe it feels thinner to you because cans are usually frozen at 0 or 1 celcius.
>>
>>35208104
i don't think so. i honestly can't imagine anyone thinking cans and draught guinness are similar. were you drinking in night clubs or other places where good guinness is not required by customers? very touristy bars etc?
>>
>>35208021
Yeah I'm trying to minimize the chemicals I put into my body. So nitrogen for me, no thanks.
>>
Reminder that even though Guinness is synonymous with Ireland, the original recipe was created by an Englishman, and subsequently stolen by an Irishman.
>>
>>35208155
what is "good guinness"? I swear its just a beer, like sure I understand that there's a few myths/rituals associated with it, but in the end it all tastes pretty similar.

>>35208166
Not sure if this is bait...
>>
>>35208166

Guiness factory, Cobblestone pub and other small pubs around the city. I avoided the Temple Bar area like the plague.

I don't know senpai, I just think their machines can really export good quality Guiness in a can.
>>
>>35208228
>I avoided the Temple Bar area like the plague.

Good idea, when I went a pint in Temple Bar was like 6 euros
>>
>>35204348
It isn't. It is filtered throughfish guts
>>
>>35208186
in ireland, especially in rural ireland, 'is the guinness good?' is a common question about a pub. guinness must be drank frequently from well maintained taps for it to taste 'good.' you can call it a meme if you want but any man who drinks guinness would consider himself an expert on whether the guinness 'is good' or not. and no one would dream of drinking any guinness that was 'bad.' it would have 'a taste.'
>>
>>35208228
never had the export, just cans from the supermarket here. not like draught at all but hey, just my opinion, you're entitled to yours
>>
>>35208054

Although that beer is great I like trois pistoles much more from the same company, give it a shot if you havent.
>>
>>35208276
>guinness must be drank frequently from well maintained taps for it to taste 'good.'
I used to work in a high end hotel in kilkenny and they end up throwing about a quarter pint down the sink every hour just to keep the taps moving. They only id this because people seldomly order guiness in high end hotels
>>

4.3€ was the cheapest I found. Beer costs ~2 Euros in Greece so it was extremely expensive for me anyway.
Do your jobs pay that well for you to be able to afford 10€ takeout food?
>>
>>35208306
...That's why those barmen kept pouring out beer in Ireland?

I thought it had gone bad or something.

minimum wage in ireland is €8.65. i'm not sure how that compares to greece, but i imagine favourably? drinking in pubs is expensive, which is why most young people opt for house drinking prior to nightclubs, particularly students. +/- mdma etc. although here in cork, second biggest city in ireland, i rarely pay over €4 for a pint of stout

Wish I could've visited Cork. It looked gorgeous.

In any case, Ireland and even Dublin was full of good people that I made friends with. You're very lucky living there.

Only your women didn't love us a lot. One specifically told me to shave my beard 10 minutes after she met me. And I don't even look that Mediterranean.
>>
Not really a fan of stouts to be honest family
>>
>>35208408
>that Mediterranean.
We are a racist country but its mostly that we take the piss out of everyone.
>>
>>35208408
i have had many friends from abroad, and i am currently woking with a huge number of young foreign doctors. no one seems to have good luck with irish women. i think that they are quite conservative. this is particularly true when we're at home in ireland. on holidays, they are wont to score locals. sorry bud, it's a case of 'it's not you it's them.'

Even extra stout is shit compared to actual stouts.
>>
>>35209514
Extra stout has a lot more ABV. I like the draught because it it's filling and tasty but is wicked low alcohol so it doesn't make me hungry or crave another one at the end of the day.
>>
>>35209680
Maybe if you compare it to fancy "muh microbrews", but extra stout is actually good.
>>
>>35203919
ITT: anons that drink beer because there's low alcohol content.

I don't drink too often, but when I do, I don't fear strong beer..because I'm getting drunk on those days.

I don't mind Unibroue with meals, but I can't just sit and enjoy a bottle by itself.

I drink Guinness when I want to sip on something and relax. When I want to get drunk, I dust off the Laphroigh QC.

Yooo I got to go to the Guinness brewery in Dublin like 2 months ago. I went to the Sky bar at the very top with the 360° view of the city and got one free drink. Shhiitt, it was good as fuck. Didn't even taste like beer, tasted like some kind of delicious malt drink. Would love another one from there.

Diet soft drinks from tesco cost like 15 cent a litre. they are awful for you and taste worse than water but mix fine with cheap alcohol. Jameson and coke is always better though

The guinness pints in the local pubs are the best imo
