Hey OP, preworkout helps but isn't necessary.
Depends what PR you're going for, but make sure to stretch out a little bit, do small sets working your way up to the pr. if you're going for a bench pr make sure you have a spotter you trust.
Most importantly, get some headphones, put on some angry/energetic music and think about literally every thing in your life that has ever pissed you off for a good two minutes before your attempt.
Maybe thats just me being autismo but i can literally improve my lifts by 10+ lbs by thinking about my bitch exgf before a set.
