So tell me /fit/. What are the best post-workout protein shakes for a noob?
>cheap = good
Been drinking pic related but they're super expensive.

You don't need post workout protein shakes, especially if you're a noob. The importance of anabolic window is way overblown, and even then you can just eat a normal meal with some protons instead of a shake.
If you really want to though, get some protein powder and a shaker bottle rather than this shit.

It barely matters. Unless you're training twice per day or planning on not eating for 24+hrs afterwards, then its a tad more important.
Just get some food in you at a convenient time after training.
>>35190795
Cheeseburgers desu
They don't actually do anything.
>>35190795
You are correct, cheap is usually your primary criteria if youre a student or something, money-quality correlation is really poor on most whey products
Protein shakes are used to get in enough protein to meet your daily criteria, so if you eat a proper meal after a workout you dont really even need them. Regardless, you should just pick an online store that ships to your country, and pick a product from them. Most stores are having holiday sales, so look around a little.
Also get a shaker bottle, so you can take the whey to the gym with you. Start sipping the drink while your on the end side of your workout.

WPI from bulk nutrients. It's $30 a kilo. Same with Venom but you can only order a minimum of 4kg
>>35190810
True, very true. But I like having my protein straight after my workout because it feels so good
>>35190838
Venom ends up being slightly cheaper if you are going to order their sizes though, because they ship for free.
>>35190838
>30 bucks a kilo
Typo or what?
It shouldnt cost more than 15€ / kg by any means.
>using protein powder at all
Expensive milk powder with added sugar, I'd much rather eat a sandwich or a can of tuna

It's been so long since I've ordered from venom that I forgot that. Did you ever try their Rocky Road flavour?
>>35190861
>implying bread doesn't have sugar
>>35190885
I did not. I don't particularly like the actual stuff to begin with and these days I've pretty much given up on using protein powder simply because my maintenance calories are so stupidly high I've got no need for extra protein-dense stuff beyond my meals.
>>35190918
oh man you missed out. Tasted exactly like Darrel Lea rocky road, made me feel so good about cutting.
That's fair enough though dude, whats your diet look like?
>>35190795
>post-workout protein
>m'meal timing
being this retarded
>>35190795
I guess this is a good thread to ask: does your gym give free proton shakes after you finish your workout?
>>35190924
Tremendous amounts of semi-clean food, basically. I try not to overdo it on the crap (although, yeah, I'll have some if I really want it) and just pound through a shit-ton of milk, meat, vegies and carbs.
The upside of being a 105kg competitor and working a manual job is that I can eat pretty much anything I want and not blow up. The downside is that I have to eat like a motherfucker or my recovery just disappears along with the scale weight.
>>35190946
wow thats intense, I'm kind of jealous you can eat so much
on the topic of protein, has anyone ever tried Choc Mint flavour protein? If so taste any good?
>>35190956
It has its ups and downs. Its pretty good to never really be hungry, but there's days where your body just goes "fuck you, we ain't eating all that".
I haven't logged exact calories, but on average I'd go through maybe 750g of meat, 300g of vegies and salad, three or four slices of bread and a half-cup of rice and a couple litres of milk (skim. not for any health reason, I was just brought up on it and prefer the taste). Less on weekends because I'm not moving half as much.
There's also days where I just say 'screw this' to the amount of food and live on a tradie diet of pies, iced coffee and anything within reach.

>Yeah but I'm not from shitty Europoor
Calling someone else poor when you are complaining something is too expensive?
