What are the best sources of protein?
I mostly mean other than in meat, I'm not a vegetarian but I don't like eating massive quantities of meat, I can find it bit unappetising
are mushrooms any good for protein?

Lentils are good source of protein, some brown breads are good for it as well.

Mushrooms are okay but you gotta eat a tonne of them. Greek yogurt and cottage cheese are good if you tolerate dairy. Eggs too of course.

low fat dairy products and eggs are the shit
mushrooms dont really have too much proteins
Doesn't that quorn fungus shit have decent macros?
beans, lentils, dairy products (fat free non processed), wheat germ, peanuts

Mushrooms have great MICROS, they act as estrogen blockers (it's a small effect, unless you eat a ton of them, but if you're natty every bit helps), but aren't meat.
Whey or casein are technically the best. (highest BV and PDCAAS)
Followed by eggs if you aren't talking supplements.

Yeah, but not as much protein as lentils and soybeans.
Great source of vitamins, immune boosters and such

Forget about getting protein from vegetables bro, just forget it. k
Just remember that proteins from plants and nuts are not "complete".
What that means is your recuperation will be longer and won't be able to lift 5+ times a week, therefore leading to less gains. Not all calories are equal, and the same can be said for proteins

Eating rice with beans completes the proteins.

Won't change its Biological Value though

Look it up. To get an idea whether it's a good source of protein or not, just google it say, mushroom (rather "champignon mushrooms" or something), then a table with contents will pop up. Divide the grams Protein per hundred grams by the kcal per 100 grams.
Meat and fish usually has 0.1-0.2 g/kcal, pure proteins 0.23 g/kcal, dairy products can have something like 0.12-17 g/kcal, vegetables usually only get you something like 0.4-0.8 g/kcal (broccoli, soy, oats, peanuts, beans). Cheese is usually pretty bad at that because high fat content. Mushrooms have 0.14 g/kcal which is pretty fucking good, didn't know that.
There's of course other things to food than their specific protein content, but you can look that up elsewhere.
