Not him, but for me, squatting solves itself if I just keep a tight core, and my hips "engaged".
If I start worrying about knees and shit, it just becomes a mess. If I "pull my ribcage down", keep my shoulders retracted, and my lats enganged, the rest just comes naturally, as long as I can also keep my hips and glutes at least somewhat active.

I had the exact same type except from the Queensland association. Were fine to lift in, had them for a year before I got nike's. Didn't really degrade or anything in that time.

Only problem was that I had to get the strap shortened cause it caught under my foot a few times, that was only about $10 though.

try not do widen your legs so much when you catch. i would check out glenn pendlays clean and snatch tutorials for some basic form tips, but basically when you jump you want to just shoot your feet forward and catch in the squat. also dont bend your arms until youre trying to catch it. you do it right before you get knee lockout.

I've had what is almost certainly knee tendinitis for about four months now, and thought it would get better if i just did no squats/cleans, but deadlifts and good mornings attempting to maintain lower body strength, but im pretty sure that the reason it hasnt improved is because i didnt cut out lower body work all together.

anyone have experience with long term knee tendinitis (tendinosis)? i think by not saying screw it and resting totally for a long period is whats caused me to have it for so long (basically my stupidity), but now resting it isnt going to be sufficient to heal it, since after a certain number of attempts to heal the damage are interrupted, your body 'gives up' on healing it.

any tips, pointers or personal stories would be amazing, and i would massively appreciate it; have a sasha('s m8) webm for anything you can give

If there's pain, you need to get checked by a doctor and get some physical therapy to heal it up. Shoulder injuries are very fickle and take a long time to heal even with physical therapy.

If it's just soreness and tightness, do the stretches mentioned in other pots before you train.

His hips are fine. He has a dynamic start so they are obviously going to 'rise faster' initially as they move into the actual start of the pull.

If you don't actually have anything to offer other than blanket critiques that may or may not apply to the case, don't say anything.

You're achieving the bar height needed to get under the bar, you're just not doing it. Whether it's a lack of confidence, mobility, or stability, or a combination, hard to say. Drop snatches, OHS, and pratazkhas are the usual prescription. Your 'pull under' is noticeably sluggish, so snatches from the hang and blocks might also help get you quicker into the catch.

Use straps and let your arms just hang, internally rotate your elbows before you pull and shake them out

Straps help you bring up wrist flexibility as well, go very light when using straps tho something you won't miss just focus on relaxing the arms, even just the bar is fine

I think that the reason u are so slow under is because you pull the bar too long, as in you should cut it short so the last part of the pull drag you under the bar.
You also have zero legdrive when you extendwith the bar mid thigh and try to bring the bar upwards, this is because your stance make the lift look like a stiff leg deadlift, to compensate you use your back only to extend the bar upwards.

My suggestions are; bring in your feet and use your legs only to bring the bar to the hipcrease, then extend.

I've had the same thing as well, mane. I rested for 4 months, and it went away. It eventually came back though, even though I really eased back into squatting.

I've just gone full deadlift mode. 1 Sumo day, 1 conventional day. I find that body weight Bulgarian split squats have been helping the issue, as well as making sure I do lots of soft tissue stuff around the painful area and wearing knee sleeves while training.

Feels good not to BB squat for a while to be honest haha.
