if it's being done right, they'll have a life that's certainly better than starving all day and fearing for predators (who'll give them a slow, agonizing death as they shut down their lives one bite at a time). Sure, some factories are overly cruel, but it's not like those are 100% legal.

I recently bought an entire lamb off a nearby farm. It was like $370 for the whole thing and it has been the most delicious baby animal I've ever had.
Got my first black bear this year. Makes a great chili. Delicious, and an all day workout carrying it up, down and out of the mountain.

It tastes good. I support anyone who goes vegetarian for moral reason, and I wouldn't be able to do that. But the world is shitfucked. Things eat and things get eaten. If I could slaughter my food and help prepare it I would. It might fuck me up a bit, but I'd want to show at least that much respect to my food. I've been trying to do a grace/the shit japs say/moment of silence before eating, but I keep forgetting. Hope I can make it a habit eventually.
