Hey /fit/, how much weight should I lose?

you should eat big, lift big

gaining muscular body weight should be your first priority.

Probably about 10 lbs.

Don't fall for the bulk troll. First get shredded and see your abs, then maintain.

From there, train on with a non-meme program like German Volume Training, 5/3/1, or most of the programs on Bodybuilding.com front page (not the forums, fuck the forums).

Track your progress by measuring stuff like chest, bicep, thigh, waist and make sure those numbers are headed in a desirable direction, and also by tracking your compound lifts.

Do NOT bulk i.e. gain weight for the sake of gaining weight.

Instead, maintain your diet until you hit some kind of plateau in your lifts/measurements for 1+ months, then increase your daily calories by like 50 and keep going.

If you do something like that, you actually have a chance of making it. You're skinny right now, which is good.

Don't fuck it up by listening to internet meme advice like 5x5 programs or "bulking."

Otter at 5' 10 is around 150 lbs+, so he definitely needs to put on some weight.

It's up to you. You have zero musculature on your disgusting looking body. I assume you are considering cutting just for the sheer humor of what it would look like to be a skeleton.

Seriously, if you cut any more. you should consider suicide
>>
>>35163150
Yes, but it needs to be GOOD weight and he needs to be leaner.

He needs to drop the remaining fat and slowly increase his lifts and his muscle measurements.

Gaining weight for the sake of gaining weight is not what he needs, fuck bulking.
>>
I wish my body looked like OP. Went from 280 or so to 180, and while everyone says I'm already skinny, I've got a disgusting malformed looked stomach, just a bunch of fat, probably because the weight loss was all due to calorie deficiency and not exercise, though I am now going to the gym. Not sure what exercises would be best to target the stomach, or if I should just continue to cut.

Not sure if trolling, but...
I know you want a 6-pack, but you need muscle first. If you cut as is, you're going to look scrawny, not ripped.

All of it
>>
>>35163163
I too always describe this board as a bunch of wide and fat permanently bulking retards on SS.
>>
>>35163191
I'm not saying he needs to bulk hard or anything, but I think a 200-300 cal surplus would be best. He won't gain much fat with a low surplus like that and he could still put on a decent amount of muscle.
>>
>>35163272
My rationale is to adjust upwards 50-100 calories and continue working out for a few months and see if the plateau is broken, then if a few months go by and nothing changes, increase another 50-100 calories.

Everything real slow, real gradual to make sure he doesn't become a fatass.
>>
>>35163299
I guess, but at such a small surplus it would take him 1-2 years to reach ottermode where if he just ate at a 300 surplus and did a 1-2 month cut after 6-9 months, he'd pretty pretty much ottermode.

>>35163515
I guess it doesn't really matter either way, but I'd rather eat at a slightly higher surplus and enjoy getting stronger faster.

m8, I consider this post to be both excellent and the most brosciency shit ever. I think people are too easily encouraged to bulk too hard when it's obvious they won't gain anything from it. OP in particular strikes me as a bit skinny fat, so he wouldn't look more "defined" by adding extra fat to his muscles on a hard bulk.

Starting on GMT as beginner though? How fucking retarded are you? Some post novice persons won't be able to recover from that program as nattys, and spending that much time as a beginner is just stupid.

this somewhat. I'd be sad to lose the gains but at least I wouldn't have gyno.
you don't have any weight to lose op. I wouldn't even call you skinnyfat. just lift and eat and make gains.
>>
>>35163095
>actually telling the guy to cut
>5\3\1 or GVT

The trolling on this board did get a lot more subtle in the last few months, i like it
>>
>>35167060
GVT is just 5x10 for most lifts. That's not really that much volume. Same as 5/3/1 accessory work.
>>
>>35163095
I kinda agree. I think people encourage bulking way too much on this forum, mostly because it's easier and more pleasant. I'd be curious to see a poll of how many posters are currently bulking, and how long they've been bulking. Seems like people bulk for months here, then cut for maybe a month and don't lose even a fraction of the fat they gained during their bulk. Then they complain they look like shit even though their numbers are good, and refuse to cut just in case their lifts decrease. As a true beginner, OP can make gains without instantly increasing his calories to 5000 a day and gaining 40 lbs of mostly fat in like 6 months.

Some of y'all think it's worth anything to escape skelly mode, but then you see those progress pics of dudes who basically just went from skinny to skinnyfat or chubby. Not an improvement healthwise or girl-wise. You can't even build muscle THAT quickly biologically, it's not worth eating a ridiculous amount of calories daily just to gain 90% fat 10% muscle
