Ever since the Russians created steroids in post-WWII/Cold War era, almost every admirable body will be scrutinized and have the tiniest belief that in some form that person took performance enhancers. People will swear they're natty when it's obvious they aren't just because of the stigma it is to be known you took roids. And those who truly are natty will have haters to discredit them. It's a lose-lose situation.
The only proof we have that sandow and hackendshmidt and their likeliness that they're natty is because roids hasn't been invented yet. But if they were alive today, no doubt people would call them frauds and say they took PEDs
