I live in the Northeast and would only ever ski/snowboard the west. It's much much MUCH more worth it to save up your shekels and spend the money for a flight, hotel, lift tickets, etc. anywhere in the Rockies or west of there than New England, Canada, or wherever you may go.
I'll take one awesome trip vs. a few shit sessions any time of the season. Seriously.
