I actually prefer the taste of coke zero to diet coke. It's slightly sweeter and with a bit less caffeine.
>>
Coke Sero in a 1:2 ratio with unsweetened iced tea and a bit of lemon is pretty good

I wouldn't sit around drinking diet sodas all day though, aspartame breaks down into two amino acids which in high concentration are neurotoxic, and also formaldehyde is one of the byproducts of the breakdown of aspartame, and formaldehyde can accumulate in your body and cause neurological problems

That feel when drinking a cup of iced Coke Sero with my daily home made hamburger and fried potato wedges

Cutting has never been so amazing

wait, mixing coke and tea?

i'll have to try this with real coke though.

So because these have essentially 0 cals I can drink like 10 of them a day without any impact on my cut, right?

It can rek your teeth because diet sodas have more acid than regular ones. Too much caffeine can also be harmful for your teeth because it restricts blood flow.

It's still better than regular coke tho. But plain water is the best.

aspartame is linked with higher bodyfat percentage

think of every chubby nurse. she drinks diet coke, and despite eating close to starvation levels of food and being on her feet for 6+ hours a day, she is obese

don't drink the carbonated jew. drink water, exclusively.
>>
>>35154723
correlation=/=causation

of course fat people drink diet sodas. it is because they are trying to lose weight.
skinny people can get away with having a sugary drink.

there is no mechanism by which a virtually calorie free sweetener could induce fat gain.

"Greater weight gain was promoted by the use of saccharin or aspartame, compared with sucrose, and this weight gain was unrelated to caloric intake. We speculate that a decrease in energy expenditure or increase in fluid retention might be involved."

Drink diet soda=trigger insulin and leptin response
insulin=glycogen/fat storage
leptin=visceral fat increase

there's your mechanism dumbass

don't be a nigger, stop falling for the jews tricks. just drink water

I don't drink any soda at all, and that's an interesting result, but it's not even remotely conclusive.

It was a very small study, done on rats, and as the authors say, they can only speculate on a cause. I'd be interested in seeing more research, although I still won't be drinking any fizzy drinks.
>>
>>35152468
Coke Zero feels more "sugary" to my mouth.

they probably use different artificial sweeteners ratios.
>>
>>35154801
>1 peer reviewed study
>proving anything
How 2 science?
Repeatability is one of the fundamental parts of the scientific method. A single study proves nothing, it's only if a study is repeated multiple times with the same results that you can pay attention to it.

okay, find one peer reviewed study that contradicts it

i will wait 18 minutes, because that's how long it took from my post to this post. it only took me 12 minutes to find my study, so 18 minutes is more than fair

good luck
>>
>>35154837
>what is burden of proof
>>
>>35154842
exactly. i found empirical evidence that suggests that aspartame and other artificial sweeteners cause weight gain in comparison to sucrose (table sugar) with similar caloric intake.

now the burden is on you to find proof to the contrary

>took high school debate
>thinks he knows how to argue because he remembers what his hippie retard debate teacher said on the first day
>>
>>35154837
I don't need to because like I said scientific consensus isn't formed from a single study. It's an interesting result sure but unless there are multiple studies all coming to the same conclusion using similar methodologies interesting is all it is.

Peer reviewed means absolutely nothing, just google 'peer review fraud'.

Also:

similar =/= identical

Then it should have been easy for you to find a study to contradict me

Someone has to be first. There is anecdotal evidence as well. Why not be an early adopter so when it is more accepted as true you don't look like a dumbass?

People thought carbs helped lower bad cholesterol. These people were your parents (or maybe you even idk). Don't drink soda just because you're a lazy bastard with no willpower. Water is free and objectively better for you. Stop being a bitch
>>
>>35154981
>Why not be an early adopter so when it is more accepted as true
Because plenty of studies that come to a conclusion have that conclusion refuted by follow up studies. See the 'red meat causes cancer' for a recent example. Even generally accepted science that appears solid can be proven wrong in a decade or so, lactic acid buildup causing DOMS for instance.
>>
>>35154981
>Then it should have been easy for you to find a study to contradict me
You want me to link to other peer reviewed studies? Did you even read my post?

>Why not be an early adopter of something because scientists are always right!
Wew lads
>>
>>35154828
You have to take in consideration the bodies expectations. When something sweet hits your tongue & saliva the pancreas will start to produce insulin because based on previous experience sweet=need for insulin. It's like being conditioned for something like Pavlov's dog.

I'm a nurse and nurses eat like shit. Every day someone brings doughnuts and orders Chinese food for lunch and everyone is pressured to partake. And if you don't, it often gets so bad that the other nurses will begin to intentionally harm your career just because you don't eat their fuckin g bullshit food

>>
>>35154651
I think if something has <5 kcal you can say it's zero, it's why nothing you ever buy says 1 calorie unless it's a marketing scheme (Pepsi One). SO if you drank a 2-liter or something it may have some impact, but it still wouldn't be a lot.
>>
>>35154782
>We speculate that a decrease in energy expenditure or increase in fluid retention might be involved
Notice how their speculations were completely unrelated to anything you fucking said.
