Hey guys.

Im new here, a NEET who has a month before classes start, and has pretty much lost the will for a job above shit kicking min wage.

I've decided to get a gym membership and just start focusing on my body. What things can you suggest to me that would help?

I strongly suggest yoga and jogging. They are proven by science to be the healthiest form of exercise, and won't hurt your joints like weight lifting.

If you aren't already I strongly suggest converting to a vegetarian or even vegan diet for the good of your long term health.

I suggest eat at a deficit and doing a ton of cardio in addition to a low intensity bodybuilding program like wii fit

Hop on a simple beginner strength routine- SS or SL 5x5.
Start light, focus on form, then add weight every time you lift, if you can.
Build a strength foundation, then switch to a hypertrophy routine (Increase your volume, lower the intensity).

Do some cardio on your rest days, HIIT and LISS.

Eat clean, train hard. Don't worry too much about 'reading' about the proper way to get in shape, what matters is your discipline and dedication to it.
