Hey guys
How can I just increase my strength but not my size?
I'm happy with my size and prefer dense muscle to puffy one !
I'm doing HIIT cardio and most of my compound lifts are in 4x5 range with heavy volume

Eat at a very low caloric surplus
Do low reps + high weight
Maintain low bodyfat

i am pretty sure this isn't a thing you can do.

just cut bodyfat if you want to be more firm

>Do low reps + high weight
while that is a good way to get low volume (and thus low hypertrophy) it is a bad way to get muscular strength.

just don't do progression, OP

You can increase your strength without gaining size. After a certain point though, it becomes a slow and ineffective process. You'll have to be really fucking patient and consistent in order to truly approach your limits at any given weight class. Clever programming helps though.
Most of your strength gains will come through neuromuscular adaptations. Just realize that once the initial gains have been made, the easiest way to keep pushing strength is by far to increase your muscle mass i.e. bodyweight.

A guy called Christopher Logan has written a book on this called Deceptive Strength, if you can find it somewhere. He's training like oldschool strongmen but he's a relatively small guy.

Jesus christ nobody in this thread knows what the fuck they're talking about.

OP you can't have strong muscles without having big muscles. Low rep high intensity emphasises your CNS instead of your muscles, hence is why some idiots think it makes your muscles stronger instead of bigger.

Strong muscles = big muscles.

Search up "greasing the grooves" training. It is not a meme, it will work. It's how spetsnaz trains

You are running for 2 seconds and calling it cardio. Starting running 5k at least three times a week.

add some bodyweight exercises, graduate to ring work. rings will have a very positive effect on your arm and upper body aesthetics.
