I've heard so much conflicting information on this. Can anyone clarify this for me?

Links or at least anatomy based explanations would be appreciated. Yes or no answers aren't very convincing.

>lifters dont do enough core workouts
>break a disc

you tell me.

excessive core workouts are yes bad for your back.
however it's the same as when you lift.
you work up to doing a lot more.

I do 150 situps, 200 crunches.
my back is fine, zero issues at all.

I have a herniated disc and do 90 degree crunches. I think you should be fine as long as you're leaving your lower back flat on the ground
>>
>>35132340
well its one or the other... 90 degree crunches or flat lower back?
>>
>>35132326
>I do 150 situps, 200 crunches.

There's a difference?
>>
>>35132464
Sit ups= full ROM, engages hip flexors
crunches=lower back stays flat on floor, concentrates abs only
>>
horizontal situps are very bad
>>
>>35132527
Why? Not trying to call you out, just want an explanation.
>>
>>35132280
Okay, I know this if 4Chan, but I'm not okay with that gif.

So sweet C:X

a long time ago I looked it up because I though I had issues form doing them

they measured or calculated (don't remember which) the pressure in the lower back of athletes doing situps and it came back something insane, plus it's the wrong kind of pressure for us humans, very far from vertical

so I stopped doing them
>>
I don't know, my back always hurts the day after I do sit-ups.

Mfw years later, we find out those words were spoken from the dad's point of view all along, and that's why he turned to dealing drugs and killing people.
