I searched catalog and the FAQ for shit about meal replacements/soylent.

I've moved to drinking Soylent with my meals which I supplement with hard-boiled eggs and cliff builder bars for additional protein. I've gained ~10-15lbs (bulking) in ~4 months since I have started this diet. This seems a little bit high for the average .5lbs of muscle per week. Anyone else mixed bulking and soylent?

TL;DR Soylent. What's your experience?
>>
I've been on Soylent for 10+ months about 1000 Cal per day. It's convenient and I enjoy it but only been lifting for 3 months so no word yet on the effectiveness for bulking.
>>
OP here, If anyone is curious... 2-2.4k of my daily calories are from Soylent and the rest from hardboiled eggs and the occasional cliff bar. I range between 2.5k and 3k calories while maintaining a 100% DV balance of vitamins and minerals.
>>

what i would give to maintain at 3k calories.
>>
Why not just eat real food instead of drinking bland liquid shit?
>>
>way too much fat
>too little protein
>shitty low BV protein
>shitty forms/chelates of vitamin and minerals
>shitty oxidized vegetable oil
>shitty fiber source
>shitty carb source

never gonna make it

soylent is shit.

>soylent
>actually eating memefood made by someone who don't know shit about food

OP, why don't you buy real meal replacements? There's stuff out there actually made by specialists and doctors, certified by the WHO. Soylent is an internet meme that took an existing concept, made a shitty rip-off (seriously the recipe is not made by professionals), and marketed it to people who didn't know there have been real whole meal replacement products on the market for decades.

mmuh dick

And since it's already a powder it's trivial to go ahead and add a few scoops of your preferred protein powder to it.

Sorry I should have clarified I still eat normal food for dinner and snacks. Trying to eat 2700+ calories per day but it's really hard.

Fuck off soylent shills, people need food not ground and dried jizz.
>>
>>35132097
6 bottles = 2400 calories = 120g protein. Honestly, that's plenty of protein for people not on steroids. Last study I read on the subject mentioned .6g per lb of lbm, so this would be suitable for someone with as much as 200lb of lbm, which is just about everyone.

Yeah exactly!

>There's stuff out there actually made by specialists and doctors, certified by the WHO.
Heh. Hehe. HehehhahahahaHAHHHHHHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAAHA

Think of all the extra lifting you could do if you didn't have to waste a bunch of time preparing and cleaning up after meals.
>>
>>35131880
Fatty here.

Can I cut on this?

Just drink soylent and eat eggs/celery or something. I don't need to worry too much about macros yet right? Just need to activate skelly/normal/notfat mode
>>
>>35137595
Who are you trying to fool? You know you're going to end up eating more
>>
>>35137624
Man, I barely eat now as it is since I don't like the food I'm eating and I'm worried about vitamins and shit.
>>
>>35137595
It's very filling. It's nearly impossible to eat too much Soylent accidentally.
>>
>>35137711
So would it work? It's low calorie too, right?

Would an entirely liquid diet fuck my shit up (literally and figuratively)?

What about even more long term? Like months
>>
>>35137844
Soylent's inventor has been getting ~90% of his calories from Soylent since 2013. He isn't dead, and he doesn't have any crippling nutrient deficiencies.
>>
There was too much maltodextrin. My shits turned to peanut butter.
>>
>>35135038

You do realize it's literally just oat flour, rice protein, and oil right? Everything else is an emulsifier or the result of a ground up multivitamin...

It's literally nothing you couldn't make for yourself for a third of the cost. Shit, this stuff is 16 dollars a day off Amazon? 16 dollars a pound?

Pro-tip:
>1 pound whey $8
>1 pound rolled oats $1
>1 pound almonds $8
>6 multivitamins

Get a good grinder and you're done. Buy your whey, nuts and oats in bulk and you can feed yourself in a year what soylent costs in a month.

Soylent is just fine in moderation. It tastes like pancake batter desu but I use it to cut and there are no real side effects. Its great because it doesnt spike your blood sugar and it's quick. I use the 1.5 version and a pitcher lasts about a week. If I get hungry and want a snack I just have a quick glass and get on with my day. I cant speak for replacing all of my meals with it and I dont think it will ever replace the nutritional value of real food but I like the idea and I support its development. How else are we ever going to get full meals in a capsule?

>you can feed yourself in a year what soylent costs in a month.
Soylent 1.5 only costs $1.54/500 kcal. Sure, you could feed yourself for less, but why would you bother?
