Remove time wasting options from your life. If you don't have a phone, a computer or a tv, or anything else fun, you are so bored all the time and all you want to do is go to work and work out.

Once again judo saves lives.
On a related note, start a non-bullshit martial art.

Discipline is having the distraction but ignoring it, not choosing to entirely rid yourself of the option.
It's not a bad thing, but there's definitely a distinction.

You develop a routine and stick with it no matter what happens. No matter how you feel or what you're thinking, you just do it. If fact, when you DONT want to do it is the moment when you should do it the most. Not just with lifting, but with anything. Continued exposure turns something into a habit, and the more entrained a habit is the less likely you are to break it. That's why people say that the first step is always the hardest.
Discipline is just another word for forming a habit, but a habit with positive benefits.
