According to my calculations he should be able to break the 500kg deadlift barrier when he'd weigh about 185kg-200kg while using a belt and straps. He did 426kg@140kg. Would this estimation make sense? Would there some sort of natural strenght limit for us humans? Or is a 600+kg deadlift possible?
>>
>>35102640
theoretically, but in reality training and bulking don't always necessarily lend the level of results we want them to. Benni and Hall are in with a good chance of making 500 though I think.
>>
>>35102640
I don't think anyone will ever be able to deadlift 500 kilos. Although Konstantinovs is inhumanly strong, there are some more powerful than him. The current record is 463 kilos by Eddie Hall (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5-mfOXF0i0), and there's a long to 500kg from that.
>>
>>35102795
to be fair Eddie made 463 look easy. He easily had 470+ in him that day. And he has a good decade to go before he peaks, if we look at Z still breaking records while pushing 40
>>
Eddie Hall will be the first human to deadlift 500 kg
>>
>>35102837

Which is nuts. Wasn't he originally a skinny swimmer?
>>
>>35102855
he wasn't skinny, I think I remember him saying he was 16 stone in his swimming days, which is about 100kg
>>
>>35102823
The Big Z did 430kg@180kg. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bADPG0N7ZbA
It's too bad KK never got up to 185-200kg. He would have easily beaten Magnusson and Hall. He's almost at their level with 40kg BW less already..
>>
>>35102640
500kg will be squatted before it's pulled
>>
>>35102877

For his height that's nothing exceptional, sounds about right. I meant skinny compared to the monster today. That's what I like about lifting, you don't know how good someone can be until they've put in the work and plenty of gear. Think of how many freaks there are walking about that don't even lift.

I think he had this picture in his mind

>>35102855
How about George Leeman? He didn't do biceps curls like most of us in our puberty, but did deadlifts from the start. Wish I had a good trainer around back then. Most trainers around are still shit today, imo.
>>
>>35102640
Strength gains with muscle gains don't scale linearly, so it wouldn't really work like that.

That said Eddie hall is our generation's best hope at seeing a 500kg deadlift. Bennie is probably second. Z and Shaw might have a shot if they specialized in deadlift instead of WSM and Arnold classic titles.

Nah, most top guys did mad shit like deadlifting over 5 plates on their first day. The genetic potential of lads like Eddie is obvious from the start. I think Eddie himself benched something like 160kg when he was 16 after little serious lifting

too old now really
>Shaw
Unlikely IMO, he's brutally strong but he's not a deadlift wizard like Hall or Benni. Thor's 450 at ESM was a big shock but whether he has much more in him is anyone's guess

there we are

squats are shooting up more than dl's recently
>>
>>35103025

Malinchev squatted 50kg on his day in the gym, less than bodyweight. Leeman couldn't deadlift like 220lbs while weighing like 250lbs or something silly like that. Brandon Lilly was struggling with the bar if I remember correctly. What you begin with is not an indication of where you end up in this game.

The guys that tend to lift silly right away are small guys with amazing proportions, like Ed Coan.
>>
>>35102997
I took the BW to strength ratio in mind when estimating that. KK was doing like 3.04 BW while Benni was doing 2.67 (with a higher weight). KK is doing 3.2 now @125kg with a deadlift of 400kg. The ratio is obviously lower. The question is: is it more linear or exponential or something else?
>>
>>35103060
Shaw and Thor are too tall. They'd have to weight too much. Being much shorter than 6'3 would mean you'd probably have a hard time weighing 180kg+
>>
>>35103054
Still your logic is flawed. Most high-end deadlifters don't squat the same amount and the inverse is true also. So, it would really depend on the lifter. That dude doing a 460kg squat, has what deadlift? And some go more ATG than others when squatting. With deadlifts there is no cheating the weight up by half repping.
>>
>>35103164
>your logic is flawed
wut, squats are going up faster than deads currently, it's just objective fact until deads start catching up in pace

and squat rules are what they are, if someone loses weight going atg that's their fault
>>
>>35103182
I'm not denying that fact, I'm claiming something else. And this post is about deadlifts not squats...
>>
>>35103117
>something else
yes. BW-numbers ratio is a game of severely diminishing returns at the top level
>>
>>35103212
i'm confused anon, i said squat will reach 500kg faster, you say my logic is flawed and go into how deadlifters and squatters have different squat/dl discrepancies, like how does it relate to my post
>>
>>35103117
>Being much shorter than 6'3 would mean you'd probably have a hard time weighing 180kg+

And being 6'3 or up suddenly puts you in the zone? You'd have to be pretty much 8 ft to look normal standing at 180
>>
>>35103268
Have fun weighing 180 as a manlet
>>
>>35103234
And you don't know that obviously. Maybe Hall will put up 475 next time. (And get to 500 faster.)
>>
>>35103336
of course not, but it's what i'd bet on
thinking 480kg barrier will be broken at wrpf

but yeah if anyone is to get there with dl's it'll be hall, bennie just can't stay healthy
>>
>>35103346
How about Leeman? Dude's young as shit
>>
>>35103372
>dude's young as shit
he is but he's still relatively far behind (hurr just 410-411 something kg what a weakling)

don't think there's any dler close to eddie/bennie level, and bennie is still recoveirng afaik? meanwhile zahir and malan are beating eachothers PR's every meet

Please keep talking about the squat instead of estimating how long it'd take George.
