Hey guys, i have a home gym and don't want to buy a pulley system. What is a good alternative for face pulls? I'm looking for something to bring up the rear delts and/or work external rotation.
just buy some bands faggot

You can use bands for facepulls, which actually works really well.
You can also do facepulls with dumbbells/little plates lying prone on an incline bench.

Do bent over reverse flys, rest head on the wall or something so avoid making it a lower back nightmare

Thanks lad, wouldn't it be hard to progress with bands though?

why would you want to get strong at fucking facepulls?

I don't need to get strong at them. But wouldn't bands get light at some point?

Ahhhhhhh shiggery diggery doooooooo!
Speaking of face pulls, at what height should the pull start from? I've seen slightly below chest, face level, and above the head.
What's the right way or at least what the difference between them?

I think slightly below chest is most common, don't really know the differences though.

Reverse delt flys, either bend forward or lying on a bench. Could even try to do wide grip barbell rowing. But your best bet is probably bands.
Bands are cheap, even when not comparing them to a fucking pulley system. You can get band in different resistances or just get pull them tighter but like anon here said, looks like you're missing the point of face pulls.
You do them to strengthen typical weak muscles that are essential to a healthy shoulder joint.
