While I'm sure Socrates was ripped this idea that he would take the beauty and strength of the body seriously is in direct contrast to his views in the Phaedo where he describes the true philosopher as having no concern for their physical body or any worldly pleasures because they are devoted to their soul and whatever comes after this life.

I think you're right, Plato definitely used Socrates as a mouthpiece for a lot of his own ideas that Socrates probably never thought of or believed. But I'm also unconvinced that Socrates said that quote about the body or anything similar.

I'm so damn close to giving in again. I just need to lose 20 or so more kg, then I'd finally be normal. But I give in and eat shitty sweets and fast food when I'm stressed. If I just cut those out I lose weight really easily, but I juse can't live without a shitton of sugar. Could really use the motivation right now.
