Does /fit/ have 110lbs (50kg) plates in their gym?
>>35053304
No, 45lb is as high as they go where I exercise. I don't recall ever seeing heavier plates in real life.

I have four 25kg plates but no 50s
How do you even load these without the bar flying away
>>35053304
yuh we got 50kg plates here
theyre stacked next to the leg press
if a plate weighs 50kg
and 1pl8 = 60kg
but an actual standard plate is 20kg
is a 50kg plate 0.83pl8 or 2.5pl8 ?
>>35053647
This, they would send the bar flying. seems pointless except for powerlifters, and honest i doubt anybody would want to be trying to load those for squats or bench.
>>35053666
its 5/6th plate yes
>>35053666
Rekt
>>35053666
0.83pl8. new maymay
>>35053726
We have 6 of them but 3 are used to support one of the walls so it doesn't fall. The other 3 are used to support the Smith Machine and Dip Bars from shaking. There's 2 or 3 powerlifting guys that use them from time to time for deadlifts.
>>35053304
Yes. they are used for leg press.

Looks like a nice place
>>35054116
It's some old Soviet gym that hasn't been maintained for 20 years. However it's 10$ a month and has no rules.

What do people mean when they say "1pl8, 2pl8, etc.."
Is it 20kg or 25kgs? My gym has both and I say I can squat 2pl8 when I put up two 20kg plates on each side for a total of 100kg including the bar. But I could just as much say I only squat 1,5pl8 if I throw up 25kg plates.
>>35054174
>old soviet gym
What country, anon?
>>35054263
Bulgaria
>>35053655
Same here. Fucking hate having to move them when some cunt leave them on the floor, and I deadlift 310kg...
>>35053666
>>35054243
Typically, it's assumed to be 20kg in my experience. Although I do wish 25kg was the norm.

But why is 20kg the norm when it's not the heaviest?
>>35053304
never seen one before m80

>0,83 plate
>>35053386
Thats kinda badadss
>>35054243
2pl8 is assuming two 20kg plates on an oly bar. Basically 100kg.
Same thing goes for the rest, 1pl8 is 60kg, 3pl8 is 140kg, 4pl8 is 180kg, etc

Keking
>>35053386
Wish I had those in my gym, would love to do some kroc rows with them.
>>35053304
why so strange isn't this the standard pl8?
2p8 squat(220kg)
>>35053647
>>35053726
You would use these for deadlifts, not loading something on a rack.

SuomI mainittu torilla tavataan
>>35054392
Read the thread. If they were any heavier, the bar would flip over.
>>35053726
I've only seen these used for legpress
>>35054243
npl8 = men's Olympic bar (20 kg) with n 20 kg plates on each side
1pl8 = 60 kg
2pl8 = 100 kg
3pl8 = 140 kg
4pl8 = 180 kg
It would be nice if a pl8 was 25 kg though.
Unit symbols must never be pluralised. Please re-read the SI Brochure.
>>35054577
I load 25 kg plates without a problem all the time m8.
>>35054577
In my experience, the bar doesn't tip over before there are 3 plates on one side and none on the other. A 50 kg plate should work just barely.
Post more pics OP
place looks like shit
I like it
We got a couple 50kg plates but they mainly keep them in a corner for my gyms powerlifting team

i cant imagine doing 120s though

No, but I do have two 100 pound plates. Bought them for cheap as a quick way to add more weight for deadlifts as my bumpers are too fucking thick (can only fit 4 45 lb hi-temps on a side).
>>35053304
Nah but my gym does have a few 100lb plates
